Guys whats happening to the bay.. Sunday nights and home games leading up to sunday have been bad the past few weeks.. people have been ignoring and giving shit to the younger guys.. they are the future of bay 16? doing that stuff means there wont be one.. we arent gonna be around for ever??? We should support them.. encourage them to start up chants when appropriate.

I think next year we do need to put alot more effort into togetherness. Perhaps a big groiup hug at the start of every match Seriously though, i was ashamed by some of the behaviour on Sunday night. And always expect alot more positivity and acceptance from the bays.

Hmmmm.....anybody want to speak up on why that happened?
I didn't hear any of it, so I'm just curious as to what the deal was....
I would think it would be good to see them getting involved a bit - especially on Sunday which was possibly our quietest match ever from the Marinators.

u dont want 2 discourage them u want 2 incourage them 2 sing and stand... there r diffeerendt ways of doing it but lately some have been taking the wrong way of doing it... if u help build there confidence they will feel happier 2 acctualy stand and sing not scared of what some will say...

I think i must add, 2 weeks ago we found our seats in between a group of young girls and guys, probably 14 or so. They were all sitting until my friends and i started getting into it, then they all stood up and sang and danced along.
I have noticed that there is a mixture of younger, and less younger who dont stand and sing. But there are a good number of youngsters who love dancing and singing along.
Was a very quiet game for us last night. Not alot of singing for long periods. I look forward to us building to a point where even on a match like that, there is a whole 90minutes of song.
Bring on Verion 3!

What i noticed over the last few weeks was this "hole" in the middle of bay 16 where the youngins were. Tiger was down the front getting the supporters chanting, Perm was up the back doing the same and silence in the centre. This made it very hard for us to sing as 1. Many times we were belting out a different tune than the supporters down the front were singing and when we were chanting the same song the timing was out. This divide they created between us is the main reason people got annoyed (myself included) they killed the atmosphere. We need to get them involved more in the chants and this is not going to happen if people are having a go at them when they do try to start a song.
"ALL ARE WELCOME IN BAY 16 IF YOU WISH TO JOIN IN!
IF IN DOUBT OR THINGS ARE QUIET DONT BE SHY TO START A CHANT
WE ALL LOVE OUR MARINERS LETS MAKE SURE THEY CAN HEAR OUR SUPPORT!
Something to remember in the off season that a few of us have forgot

It doesnt matter if they are lil kids or adults.....the people that piss me off are the ones who start "lets go mariners lets go".....WORST SONG EVER. Should not be heard ever again.

Post of the week award to Keensy. Absolutely the most cringeworthy aspect of supporting CCM.

I deadset cannot stand the thing....everytime some person starts it no matter who it is i swear about it and most of the time sit down in protest.
IT DOES NOT BELONG AT A FOOTBALL MATCH.

I think that chant may have come from basketball, not football.

I think it belongs at a Primary School swimming carnival. Even the Squadrunts dont do it (so they say) and it just makes us a laughing stock.
Before anyone chips in with "its easy, everyone knows it and its better than silence" - no it isnt better than silence.
Lets make our great game safe from the moronic chants of our partners in the Coalition of the Willing (the septics not the poms)

"Yoo Ess Ay! Yoo Ess Ay!" = "New Car Sull! New Car Sull!" BTW Apologies for my absence the other night. For those who were wondering, I had the chance to view the match from a corporate box. With nothing on the line it was a good opportunity to ditch 16 for once and see the game from a diff view. I am now a fan of BlueTongue I also hate let's go mariners but in the heat of the moment will join in about a third of the time just for the sake of support. I will help keensy lead its demise though!

I think the people leading the chants from the front still need to be a few rows further back. Another 5 or so.
