While I sometimes question 4-4-2 magazine over their emphasis on Pommy football articles (considering the mags roots, it's inevitable I suppose), I have to say that the regular 'More than a game' article is my fave piece each month.
Covering the supporting terrace rivalries (can't wait for the Marinators v Scum coverage!), it makes for excellent and often amusing reading.
This month's supporter tip for motivating players is a gem.
Croatia's Hajduk Split fans broke into their stadium and dug 11 six-foot deep graves on the pitch in a 4-4-2 formation and left a banner saying "Be league champions or you're dead".
Witty? Enterprising? - Yes?
Subtle? On for the Mariners? - No

I can't find any reference to it now but I remember a few years back, after Richmond (AFL) had a bad start to the year, someone dumped a truck load of chicken crap on the doorstep of their offices.

We wouldn't be digging the graves in 4-4-2

Many examples of newspaper classifieds selling "11 clowns" or "11 headless chickens" that appear after an ignominious defeat.

Knowing our luck, the holes would be filled and levelled properly and Mrdja would stumble and be on compo for another year :-)

why do you think it will be his last on the coast?

I would be annoyed if the mariners let him go if he plays they way he had before he got the injury. He was by far a standout, and scored regularly too.

i think he has one year on his contract left, so he would be playing for a new contract, but if he remains fit he would be a big asset to the team, and would be offered another contract

Scored Regulary, wtf? he is yet to prove himself since his injury he had about 5 or 6 games last season and scored once off a free kick, im not trying to put shit on mrdja, i wanna see him do good, but come on wait until he gets back in his grove to say he is our hero

I meant before he got THE injury, aka the one that kept him out for more than a year. THEN he was scoring regularly - in fact the match before he got injured in the Pre-Season Cup Final, he scored a hattrick. I probably wasn't clear enough.
