Morning all from a very wet Auburn (wife not happy this morning as Auburn Golf Course resembles Brisbane Water and her Golf has been cancelled!!), Please see below a link to a DRAFT Constitution for our new club: www.merrillie.net/mariners/marinators_constitution_draft.pdf A few notes: 1. This is based on a CCLC Club template, with some amendments made to suit our club 2. This is a DRAFT, it is just a suggested document. It is by no means set in stone 3. It is placed on here in the spirit of openness and transparency 4. Please feel free to place constructive comments on here regarding this Draft, OR, you can PM me if you wish. Yours in footy, Auburn

Will the club be responsible for Office Bearers Liability Insurances etc or do they come under a blanket policy held by CCLC??
Anyone prepared to accept office ought to have cover as it is reasonable to try and minimise any personal liability they may incur.

Anyone prepared to accept office ought to have cover as it is reasonable to try and minimise any personal liability they may incur. i imagine this will be handled by the CCLC as they have oversight of the club's activities - the club is a sub-club of the CCLC, not a separately incorporated association. this has rights and responsibilities with it- * the responsibility to follow reasonable directions from the club and in particular to keep rules, minutes and accounts to the club's satisfaction * the right to be backed by the club, and thus avoid some of the messier legal parts of running an entirely autonomous club (unless anyone *does* fancy boning up on the associations incorporation act and incorporating ourselves... and then hiring solicitors, accountants and auditors etc...)

I will be posting a final draft over the weekend, one will also be sent to MarinerMick as an official Notice of Motion for the IGM.
This final draft will take on board Kev's comments on the Constitution, but I should note that we don't agree on every issue and I will post what the current leadership group are comfortable with, after due consideration.
BTW, We will be a sub-club of CCLC and we have some coverage with them.
Regards,
AM
