Back to the real world after a sleepless trip to Mel. With flights cancelled and others delayed was a great trip!! And Mel even managed to let the sun out briefly.

Note: Spencer St Station has been renamed "Southern Cross", the trains DO NOT all go backwards (had to laugh at that sledge) and, yes, Southern Cross Station is adjacent to Docklands Stadium.
When the AFL sold Waverley Park, they looked for a central Melbourne venue with great Public Transport, something sadly lacking at Waverley. They found the decrepit Docklands Site, and the building of the Stadium completely rejuvinated the whole area (a la Darling Harbour in Sydney).
BTW, Southern Cross Station has been completely rebuilt (for the 2006 Comm Games) and has won a plethora of architectural awards.
Docklands is a GREAT place to watch football of any code; you really do feel like you are right on top of the playing surface.

T - Remember that guy at the $100 Pontoon table betting $400 per hand?? Right after you wandered off somewhere, he threw down $1500 on the one hand, and got an ace and a jack, and the dealer handed back somewhere between 8 and 10 grand. Right at that point, Jasmin (Chimmi) and my missus (Shoelady) started being all cheeky about "maybe _that's_ the guy we need to be flirting with". Such a delightfully "Indecent Proposal", wouldn't one say?? Docklands is a GREAT place to watch football of any code; you really do feel like you are right on top of the playing surface. Hmmmmm, I dunno - anywhere in the first 15 - 20 rows on the bottom level and you do lose the view of the other side of the field. Many a time on Sunday we though we were in the perfect place for a shot on goal, only to look at the screen and see that we were a good 40 yards out. I did however, go on an MCG tour yesterday. Now _that_ is a stadium and a half. The view from the MCC members stand would almost be worth the 25 year waiting list. Almost.

Hmm, and here I thought "What happens away.. stays away" but I can't blame them for thinking that, 8-10K at one sitting is a pretty good haul. I do actually remember that conversation.... that was just as things were going a little blury, Damn contacts.

At least, that's what it should be (well, that's my modified version anyway). ;D

10 points from 4 games and we have only played at home once isn't a bad return. with a little luck we could of taken all three points but hey a draw away is better than a loss. Where they shoved away fans was actually quite a crap view of the ground imo. but the victory supporters really should buy a compass between them and check the ground orientation. maybe a greggorys as well. Cheers to the royals accountant. ;D

Well this is the first time in 3 season that we didn't have to be escorted from the ground for our own safety. Vics are slow as, but a nice change.
Good to see some new faces inthe crowd and to have the players move on and off the ground using the tunnel next to us. Thanks, it was really appreciated.
I think I've got that 4th colour coming on after the end of that game. too much stress. I feel as though I've defended for the last 10 minutes to ensure we don't have a goal scored.
Great time.

Avalon Airport... We are waiting for our 20min late plane to come in. A Qantas plane comes in to land, gets 3 quarters up the runway, then takes off again We are confused as hell, when 5 min later, the same plane has done a full circle, comes in to land again, gets 3 quarters up the runway, THEN TAKES OFF AGAIN Conclusion is that it must have been an empty plane, and a trainer pilot in it. But would be funny if it was not

Only saw it twice as we boarded our flight, may have been more times. And it was a windy day, but otherwise fine. Thats why I thought it might have been training, in windy conditions.
