I was actually a little surprised at how little security was behind the bays last night - I'm sure there used to be a lot more just lurking for the bigger matches.
I agree that the different supporters should probably be sent out in different directions - I remember they used to do that with the CCM-Sydney matches.
Glad to see that the squadron actually brought a lot more supporters than usual.

In a whole, I agree. The organisers should start considering the fact that there is certain supporters that would tear the limbs off opposing supporters. These sort of things shouldn't happen overall, let alone infront of children. I mean just as an example, as me and my friends were leaving the stadium, we couldn't even walk down the stairs and out the exit towards the Leagues Club without a fight starting too break out between one of us Marinors supporters and one of their Jets supporters. Although it was considered a "weak" fight, it was infront of children who were being ushered away as quickly as possible by their parents. Also just a note, the fight wasn't broken up by Security as they were no where near to be seen. Instead it took fellow supporters to break it up, just proving that security CANT BE EVERYWHERE. What do you think? Regan Positives out of that is that if it happened when Sydney or Melbourne are involved the felliow supporters would have joined the fight ;D No doubt about that.

After that equalising goal, I was shocked at the amount of N00bcastle supporters who thought it would be alright to point and scream derisive things at us richie-riches in Bay 6. I waved my members card at them and yelled "...don't you know who I AM.. " but it didn't make any difference. giggle

My family sits in the northwest corner of Bluetongue, near the away supporters' bay.
We were amazed at the size and the noise of the Newcastle crowd. To be honest, from where we sat we couldn't hear the Marinators as the Squadron was drowning them out. But that might just be a criticism of the acoustics of the stadium, rather than the Squadron being noisier than the Marinators!
It might have been a case of quantity over quality. Some of the Squadron chants were pretty funny, but most were just ill-informed, negative and abusive.
And what's with the Newcastle chant "Sasha's a girl's name"? We have a Sasho but no-one named Sasha!
