I think these a a few of the reasons. The view from bay 16's not great. people now have kids. Some people just wanna relax and watch the game.
Its not because they lost there passion they just want a different experiance on gameday alot of these guys will still stand and yell with the marinators on away trips.Just from time to time they wanna actually watch the match.

Well we could all just do a Fish, DJ, Lou and Karen and move bay 16 to a corporate box, drink free beer and eat seafood all game ;D

But in all seriousness, yes, we are quieter as of late, due to key loud people leaving, which is fine dont get me wrong, but that dose not take away from the passion that the people still there have.
I personally think some people in the Marinators are aiming to high to soon. Other clubs have a larger fan base than us, we simply can not compete with numbers. It takes a lot longer than 3 years to build a solid supporters base. I also dont give a shit if other groups from other teams are louder/bigger/better tifo displays, we support our team, we continue to support our team, the rest will fall into place over time.

The bay sounded great on Sat!! Could hear it well from the corporate box!! It was a little unclear what was being said at times, but I think part of that is the fact that we don't have a roof!!!

Our numbers are fine, the noise is fine.... once there is a chant going, that is. For long periods of the game there is just silence tho. Where did all the passionate nutcases go that used to start the chants? Did they get put out when the megaphones came in and took over? Decide to go have a sook in the stand because someone else had a go at starting chants? Well I hope they get over it and come back

I think we have recaptured the right formula on Saturday and if people enjoy it they will come back and bring friends. No dramas and now heading in the right direction.

Well it needs to be one or the other; randoms starting chants or coordinated with megaphones - lately it has been neither.

It has quietened down since last season. I remember going to school after a SATURDAY match with no voice. We should be chanting for at least 65mins of the whole game. If someone tries starting a chant, dont look at them in disgust, get into it. We need to be louder for longer. What happened to the mega phones? I reckon all the BIG marinators sit towards the top and the ones that wanna sit there and not chant towards the front, if we are closer together then we can hear the chants better and start getting into it more. I reckon we jump around more, it definately made me get into it more. And the "we are top of the league" chant, it made me proud, i enjoyed the game more. Consider my ideas and get back to me

transplanting from another thread to keep on topicc: I reckon next home game when we chant "we are top of the league" or "aloi aloi aloisi", everyone puts their arms around each other and jump up and down. that's kinda what the 'shalalalala' one is for. first go was a bit stuttery and not enough jumping, the second time was pretty cool though. though i must say i'm happy to get jumping going with more songs, it looks great and it gets people excited. and it's fun! sometimes i think we forget a little about having fun and take ourselves a little too seriously (and i'm probably more guilty of it than most!). that said, i've been musing for a little while about whether we should change 'everywhere we go' to have that on the end instead of 'yellow army' which seems to get a start fairly often anyway. that way if we get into a bit of a rhythm of 'everywhere we go' following into 'shalalala' then we should be able to have everyone just bang straight on to it with no break to the flow. maybe try in newcastle and see how we go?

I quite likes serious's "ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" followed by "mariners fc, yellow yeah yellow" straight after it.
Maybe we could do the yellow part straight after the keepers take a goal kick, instead of that shit "you fat bastard" chant?

's funny, the last coupla weeks we've actually tried a few things and made them work (aloi aloi aloiiiisi, ooooooooo and shalalalalala, though that's more being re-tried after several goes last year - am i missing any?) and in patches we've been really loud. it's just like adz says though, it's the consistency that needs work.

I just got sick of standing in the sun That, im sorry, is a piss pore excuse. Iv had a headache since kickoff on Saturday that wont go away due to the sun and the beers I had before heading to the bay, and I would not change a thing. Dose that make me a bigger fan? No, it means you should harden the f*** up and stop making excuses for not contributing, and makes you look stupid for having a cry. Would you think it acceptable if John Aloisi said he didnt want to play Saturday, cos it was to hot in the sun due to the kick off time? f*** settle down i was only making an observation

Will you stand in Bay 16 on the couple of 7pm games we have coming up. Or is the sun just an excuse to justify siting somewhere else.
