Hes an idea, why don't you run a competition for the kids to be mascots, like in the EPL.
Where they come on with the teams and meet the players etc.

We actually ran a promotion on 2GO to find the mascot for our first match and we won't be doing this again in the season. Not that it went badly or anything, we just planned to only do it once.
There will be plenty of other times for kids to meet the players rest assured.
