Hi, I was just wondering if there was any idea of when Mrdja and Boogaard will be returning. Boogaard has not even stood on the pitch in the a-league and i am excited to see him play after watching a few of his cc united games.

Hi analysis,

Nick had an MRI scan on his knee today (Tues, 30 Nov). This scan will tell us if he will be out for the season, or if he will be back at some time. Be looking on the Mariners website later this week for the results, as yet, I'm not sure how it went but after speaking to Lawrie and David Hughes (our physio) today, we're much more hopeful and expectant of a positive outcome than what we have been previously. Should the doctor give him the OK, the plan is for him to spend a month on the training pitch before starting to play again. If anyone has seen Nick during his injury period, you'll notice that despite doing no physical activity for the better part of four months, he hasn't put on a kilo and it shouldn't be too hard to get him back on track.

As for Nigel, his illness is a monopoly that refuses to end. He had his tonsils taken out earlier this week in a bid to get him on the mend, as his recovery from glandular fever has taken abnormally long. I wouldn't expect him to play this season.
