Good call it looked very serious start away, and it broke the Glory's attacking play for just long enough for Tommy t oslot in the winner. Nice to see us get the points against the play -just the 1 behind the bling now- go the tards!

Hilly - did you watch the game, Kwasnik had an absolute stormer tonight, dead set legendary stuff, but hey you were already saying it was a shit game before he stepped on the field. Defence great? Wrong again, that ball should of been cleared away before Despotovski scored, too slow, O'Grady was a shining light, again. And I still don't think the Mariners deserved three points.

How about his cross for the 1st goal?? How about his incredble work rate?? How about the defending from the front he did?? How about the last ditch defending in injury time?? How about trapping a 50m pass and getting perfect control with one touch in the 2nd half??
OK, he probably wouldnt have started if Hutcho was fit but there were many worse performers than Kwassie tonight.
(He jsut looks like a wide MF to me though)

I cant understand why Browny isnt playing either. Personnally i think he is a better choice in the left mid role that Petrie.
I think we changed our shape when sully came on playing three a the back an five in the midfield which seemed to improve things a bit.
Danny was very composed a number of times when perth had chances in front of goal. I think he is developing into a fantastic keeper.

little insight into kwasnik's cross. he didn;t even look up. and he crossed the ball behind tommy. tommy made it look easy. the cross is very very over rated. apart from that he did play well. but he still cant hit the side of a barn. he is not a striker. wide midfield aye? think i like it.

An undeserverd win. I think we didn't control the game as weel as Perth. But hey that is football. Fell very sorry for Perth they sdeserved a point, we didn;'t deserve the win or a point. Feel that we never created enough space (create to Perth), it seems as though Perth had that extra man in the spot. From bay 22, we could here Tony yelling for spaces when throws were taken.
I hope that Colosimo and Petkovic are ok, and they make good recoveries.
Cheers

Omni / greenpole, point taken about his work rate and his excellent cross. Can't argue with that but he is there to score goals. Why does he always get the strikers role ahead of golden boot Petrie? I probably wouldn't be so tough on him if he played attacking midfield

Sorry, I think Kwassy played a massive role in winning that game, yea OK he didn't score but he did so much more work a striker isn't expected to do and it's not like he's not giving 100% I spoke to him last night and he was pretty damn happy with his performance and looks to of got his confidence back, but people coming on here and posting rubbish like that when he actually had a brilliant game is not only bad for Adam but bad for the club and I've had enough of it!

Im with omni on this one. I thought Kwassie played his best game in CCM colours last night and was one of the best on the park for us. His workrate was unbelievable and as omni has mentioned he ran down everything.

Petrie played something like 6 seasons as a left mf/winger. I just reckon Kwassie could do the same job on the other side. With 2 good full backs we would be ok as they get forward. You then have 2 people getting crosses in.

Just watched it in slow motion. Yes he didn't look up but he knew where ht eplayers were going as had seen the runs as he took off. I think he had one of his best games for us ... involved all night.

Probably Kwasnik's cross was a practised set-up in training - he may have just done exactly what he should do if Tommy makes a run, and he did! I need to see the replay though. The radio had the match live and they also remark how Kwasnik kept running around and getting into defence when needed. It sounded like that Perth did have more chances then us, but as everyone is saying a win is a win. Consider how we could have beaten Sydney in round one, but lost. Over time these things average out. Best of luck to the two perth players, and how DID Mori escape injury???

I wonder if some of the reports here came from people who saw the game. We played well in the first half and should have been leading 3-0 at the break. They obviously watched tapes of our game against Sydney and really marked us out of it out wide. Tommy and Stewie always seemed to have two on them whenever they got the ball. The middle of the park was the worry. Perth seemed to find it easy to make easy yards up the middle while we seemed to have little answer when they blotted out our wingers. Our defence was good particularly in the first half when they handled whatever perth could throw at them without drama. In the second half we lacked intensity and I was not surprised when Perth scored. The final 10 mins was just panic stations with all hands to the pumps. With a bit more composure we should have been able to retain possession better and hopefully catch Perth on the break. It could have gone either way, but this win puts us back in business and I see us moving on from here. I thought Kwassy had his best game for us so far. Tommy had a blinder even though I still believe he is yet to hit top form and Wilko did so much that is not noticed by many (especially national selectors). Onwards and upwards.

i thought kwasnik had a great game. his movement to get free and be a holding player from up front was excellent. he took on players, made himself a free man to allow space behind for tom and helped out the team as a team player rather than a one man only going for goal all the time

opinions on McMaster? Just curious to see what people's thoughts on his performances recently. A lot of people have been praising players and bagging players but rarely anyone speaks of McMaster. Also Viddie seems to be getting around 60 mins every week. Any chance he may play 90 soon or am i asking too much?

Yes he did. On the Sydney match he played well, passed the ball a fair bit and set up O'Grady's goal, but I didn't see yesterday's match
