I think he was trying to say that you could barely tell where the squadron was.
The only reason I could tell was that there were a couple of banners above them, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to tell!

I dont know how accurate Simon Hill's estamation would be but his comment i heard on the replay was along the lines of "and the ball goes out for a throw in right in front of where the 350-400 odd mariners fans are perched" and id say that was just looking at bay 10 and not the people in bay 9

Guys I don't even want to participate on a forum where the majority are just a bunch of sore losers. I watched the replay I heard the Marinators clearly once and that was after your goal. You guys are just way too quite. The squadron just go all day and we actually get under the oppositions skin. I have only watched the first half but the only thing you could really hear from the squadron was that NEWCASTLE rugby league chant and that annoying whistle

lol use cant even understand ur own central coast shtness of a language! where do i start? 1.u talk about all ur pre season cup games. can someone please inform me of what they go towards??last time i checked it was nothin more then just a warm up 2.i have been to both games at the central coast this year and the fans have been appaling!! we beat ur total of fans for those games in 1 game at "the cauldron" as it is now being reported as 3.mori is shit. 4."there wasnt any anti-newcastle chants" wat a load of sht.u cant honestly say u didnt do the typical "we hate u cause ur from newcastle" crap u normally do 5.that crap i heard bout all u can see are newcastle knights jerseys well my friend it is now time for u to post ur fotos.o and another thing about that: Newcastle Superleague team: Hunter MARINERS Central Coast A-League team: Central Coast MARINERS Hunter Mariners colours: YELLOW AND BLUE Central Coast Mariners colours: YELLOW AND BLUE umm i dnt no about u but to me it seems as tho ur club is nothing more then newcastle wannabes 6.the number of minutes it took mark bridge to score 1 magnificant goal and shut use up 7. i will never forgot the images of vuckovic standing there helplessly watching the ball float into the back of the net and end all hopes of the dismal "comeback" use apparently were having. seriously the best thing about the game was that freekick 8. it has also come to my attention that every time ur team goes 2 players up u never win.must suck supportin a team like that ay
and on a final note i must put forward this use say that we are bogans and what not and ur supposedly the "upper class". we then proceed to demolish u 3-1 and make ur team look like fools. calls us bogans all u want atleast we hav results to prove ur shit!

Sigh....
I will urge the other users here to resist the temptaion to reply to nufc and either ignore this thread entirely or continue on with the discussion we were having before he interfered (and also remind you all that there is no longer any need to reply to goldjet's statements).
Please, don't feed the trolls.
Now, back to the number of supporters we brought :-)

How many does bay 10 hold? I would have thought that we would have filled it nicely. There were a few empty seats, but they would have been filled by the marinators sitting in bay 9 and at the back of 10.

There were a few empty seats, but they would have been filled by the marinators sitting in bay 9 and at the back of 10. 24 rows x 22 columns (i looked a the seating chart on ticketmaster) = 528 seats, plus another 60 odd behind the disabled seating.

so that was mostly full, and bay 9 was...what, 50% full?
So maybe 700 supporters?

My guess on the day was 500 and I think that it would be within 100 of the right number.
We travelled with very good numbers that the Jets can only muster in a semi final situation.
For what we took, I thought we were very quiet in parts and it's evident that until we grow another 50% bigger, the boys really have to be doing the business on the pitch to keep the Marinators motivated. This may well just be my high expectations though. In my ideal world we'd be at our loudest when we're losing because that's when they need us most. As with all groups it is the other way around.
Taped the match and watching on Fox we were very loud so I guess we were better than I thought - Simon Hill even commented when we were calling Breeze a wanker. I even heard 'Slater's a f***wit'.
Not all bus chants were used successfully but it was a good exercise and we'll continue it in the Kendall before all our home games to really refine the new stuff.

Like I said elsewhere, when I came in 10min late (courtesy or piss-poor organisation...those ticket lines were a joke) ALL I could here was 'Can you hear Newcastle sing?' - from the far corner.
We were a little quiet, especially compared to Sydney. But when you're down 2-0 early it does kill some enthusiasm, as does the heat.
I noticed we were swearing a lot more than usual too.
Did any of the new chants get trialled? I can't remember...

My guess on the day was 500 and I think that it would be within 100 of the right number. Depends who you are counting. Watching the game on TV (recorded) today for the first time, there were Mariners fans sprinkled all around the ground, in almost every crowd shot. I'd say it was over 1,000 easily. Not as many as the semi but perhaps more than the other game.
