It is not iIf there is going to be baggage brought from Spirit to the Mariners in terms of in-fighting
This is a new team, new start and there is no way there can be factions at this club like there was at Spirit.

Why don't we throw in Mark Bosniff aswell.... they'd be happy tp play for white powder. In that case we should have Nicola Berti on the coaching staff. ;D

SO, is this a CENTRAL COAST team, or another hybrid like we've had b4... I'm sick of other people coming along and taking our glory from us... Let's get harry....

Let's hope there's no serious infighting or factions. Can't be good for a new club...

Today's Express Advocate, by Paul Newman, states that:
"Central Coast Mariners are hopefull of having former Parramatta Power player Damien Brown contracted for the 2005 season by tomorrow.
Socceroo Ante Milicic, has been signed up by a rival club while fellow Socceroo Simon Colosimo's manager met with Mariners officials on Monday."
Damien is of course a local, and is a very usefull utility player being equally at home wide in defence, in the midfield, or attack, generally on the left but can play centre. As well as Power he has played for clubs such as in the NSL the Newcastle Breakers and in NSWPL Blacktown City.
It is a shame local Glen Sprod is past his prime and now playing at NSW Super League level.
One player who I reckon could be looked at, perhaps not in the 1st year, is John Filan. He is from around my way - Epping. Keeper Jacob Rex is with the 'Coasties' and is a local but he has been inconsistent and was quite poor last season with Manly Warringah Dolphins in NSWPL.
I was going to suggest Robbie Middleby but he appears to be re-signing with the Newcastle Uknighted Jets!

That gives us one player so far.
What an awesome statement made by the club!
First player signed is a local.

;)Certainly some handy players there. I suppose they will also talk to Kwasnik, Groves, Hutchinson & Fisher in due course. But who is being spoken to as far as donning the 'keepers gloves, one of the most critical of positions. Cheers D.C.
