Kev Wolfenden has signed with the Jets so you can cut him out. When was that? I knew that Jobe Wheelhouse had signed for the Jets but haven't heard anything with regards to Wolfenden.

Scratch this lot then:
Six of the best Australian players have signed for Sydney FC for the inaugural A-League season in 2005-06, the Sydney FC chairman, Mr Walter Bugno announced today. They are: · Clint Bolton, goalkeeper (been in State League) · Alvin Ceccoli, defender (captain of Wolves in NSWPL) · Sasho Petrovski, striker (captain of Bankstown City Lions in NSWPL) · Robbie Middleby, winger - was thought signing with Newcastle · Andrew Packer, defender/midfielder · Steve Laurie, defender (ex South Melbourne I think)
The new names I've seen linked for Central Coast are:
Paul O'Grady - ex Power (playing in NSWPL) Matt Osman - ex Spirit - playing, well, with Penrith Nepean United in NSWPL Jacob Timpano - ex Wolves

On SBS last night they said Roy Hodgson will be the coach of Sydney FC Another coupe for the A-League

I was sceptical when SBS announced it, because how many clubs are ashamed to confirm or deny a coach?
Is the Central Coast happy with its coach?
He doesn't fit into my bill as a fantastic coach, but are the fans happy with him on board?

He is a Scottish legend and with countless national caps and a Rangers legend. McKinna coached two brilliant seasons under Spirit. He played a very attacking style of play and with the players he has signed so far this should continue. Coupled with the experience and guidance of Australia's most capped international in Alex Tobin I think we have a great team.

That is questionable that he is a 'great' coach.
He did do well on his budget, but he needs to prove he can do well with a great squad.
I guess I am an unfounded critic, but will be interested to see how he goes this year.
You guys are probably right and he will take them to championship success, which you should look for with the present squad, not reaching the finals would be an absolute debacle.

We are yet to sign any quality strikers or goalkeepers so my expectations are not there yet. When the full squad is in place for all teams I will be able to see if we have a relatively better squad. If we sign Wayne O'Sullivan I don't see how other teams will have a better midfield under the salary cap.

Apparently by the end of this week your whole squad will be announced. That's 10 players signed in one week - a huge effort. It would be good if that happens but it is a big ask.

I think the best marquee player for my beloved Mariners, wouyld be none otehr then the man Alan Shearer, as he is planning on retiring from newcastle at the end of the season, and he would definetly be the answer to the lack of strikers and would be a definete crowd favorite...
i would like to know what you all think...

That would be fabbo, not just because he is a superb striker, but because it would get right up the noses of Con 'Casino' and his Newcastle Uknighted wankers. They would be thinking that they have the 1st option on Shearer as part of some touted 'sister city' deal.

Now that it has been confirmed that Terry Venables is not coming to Newcastle Uknighted (hold up your hand if you are surprised), there could be some severely pissed-off players who've 'signed' for the 'smoke & mirrors' Uknighted Club who will now consider other offers.
Keep in mind that apparently no players have actually signed a contract, just letters of agreement, so they would be free to leave.
Maybe a short trip down the coast would be a viable option for some of the better players.
