Scum 0 - QLD 1 after 30 secs Zullo links with Kruse
And that's the score at half-time.

f***ing Queensland doing what they did against us - go hard for an early goal then sit on it. When they break quick with Zullo/Kruse/Reimisso they outnumber the Jets because Jets are throwing so many forward at them. When they can't break, they just boot the ball to Covic. Real exciting.
The only upside is that they are doing this to the scum in their own place.
I reckon GVE will give them some fresh ideas at half time and Newcastle will attack with a plan now. What that plan is and if it works is another thing.

Maybe that's because QLD defenders are mostly old buggers, thinking, just kick it to the young kids make them run.
Hopefully the jests luck has run out. They already missed one sitter

Ref was piss poor again - nailed on pen to Qld in the 1st half and Ogan whats his name nailed the human excrement (elbow) that the ref missed.
Nice clear chants of Reddy is a wanker which is always nice whoever sings it.
Zullo looks a class act, so freakin fast and great touch.
Holland was nothing really, too lightweight and drifts out of the game. Spencer and Jardel vied for least effective sub ever award.
Moore's pen was a good save although short of pointing where he was going to take it he couldnt have made it more obvious.
WE ARE (STILL) TOP OF THE LEAGUE

I thought it was a decent save. Yeah it was. Not the best penalty but it still was a decent save IMO.

Sydney 0 - Adelaide 1 (Lucas Pantellis 51') Mark Rudan YC - 4th and out versus us next week! That's the final score! We are now second on goals scored - at least that puts the Scum 3rd! Big game in windy Wellington now!

Sydney are shit!
They would be preying that Michael Bridges can set the league alight otherwise they will spend the season fighting Perth for the wooden spoon.

The pattern of away team taking the lead with counterattacking, then sitting RIGHT back to hold that result, and home team keeping all the possession but struggling to break down the packed defence, is getting predictable and boring. To be fair, Mariners have won away like that a number of times but we copped one last week.
Sometimes the home side is good/lucky enough to get it back to 1-1 like last night and sometimes they aren't like tonight. If the finishing is good enough that it gets back to 1-1 fairly early the games tend to open up and it's a bit better.
But how often do you see a team take a two goal lead? You don't because as soon as you have the lead you just defend. Hopefully now that we have Aloisi with the attackers we already have we will play to our strengths and go on with it when we take the lead.

I know what you mean Brett about nearly all the teams playing that style of football away from home.
However even if Adelaide didn't sit back, Shitney still wouldn't have scored. They were extremely poor going forward. Harper and Cockerill said it about 1000 times, Sydney offered very little width and they were never going to break down the Adelaide defence going through the middle of the park.
Juninho had one of his worst games in a Sydney shirt and it really showed in the way Sydney attacked. They'd struggle if he got another injury.
Santalab isn't good enough for the A-League and I truly hope he starts for them next week.
