COORDINATION OF SINGING FOR SUNDAY:
We're going to have a hell of a job coordinating singing on Sunday, with singers spread around quite a bit and there is going to be major potential for a fractured sounding group.
Consequently, we're going to have to get a little organised and a little smart.
Coordination is the key. We need a way of ensuring that our singing is in time, loud and spread right across the 5 bays.
I've got no doubt we can get everyone into it, and this could be the biggest thing that Bling FC has seen - away support truly competing with The Cove.
We're going to have to be careful with the songs that go up, and we're going to have to ensure that songs get picked up quickly across the away end and that they are carried for long enough that people on the outer don't figure "I'm not going to start singing because as soon as i start, the core stops".
To get the whole end to sing, we're not going to get whole essays into song. We're going to have to keep it simple, and make sure that each song gets enough of a chance to get up.
Clapping chants are great because with arms up in the air it provides a clear visual cue to the other fans, and it also looks bloody awesome. This is one of the things we were complimented on after the last Sydney trip.
Slow chants are also good because they'll give us some time to get them up and get all 5 bays (and more to the Western side I think - Kevrenor and co. are over there) up and going.
One essential thing: I'm guessing we'd rather be loud and repetitive than quiet and sophisticated.
Good lead on the chants will be absolutely imperative. Have we got anyone with megaphones? Ideally, we'd get perhaps 3 megaphones for this match. One leading from the middle of Bay 3, and one each between Bays 1&2 and Bays 4&5 taking a cue from the leader.
There doesn't need to be a particular person doing the leading, but the centre should lead and it should go from there - less risk the far side lagging behind the centre lagging behind the leader.
I think we can put on a huge show this week, and it's really important that we do. The Marinators will be in the spotlight this weekend, and our boys really need us on top of our game.
