Fantastic support for the whole game. IMHO that is the best, most passionate support we have ever given them.
Onwards and upwards

The night was great! I had lots of fun as always...Corey the Jets fan who sat with me in bay 16 had a great time too - It was fantastic to see how many people they brought down, a rough guess would be about 100, including this wonderful guy who posed for me - and was unfortunately yanked out of the bay by an *ahem* overenthusiastic marinator i85.photobucket.com/albums/k53/chimmi_churri/Jetsboywhoposedforme.jpgand many giggles to see Auburns kid attacking Trogdor with thundersticks! i85.photobucket.com/albums/k53/chimmi_churri/TrogdorandAuburnskid.jpgOh - and the power tools i won in the raffle will be put to work soon enough by rebuilding my mini...right after i learn how to use them - Many thanks ;D

First and foremost i just want to thank you guys for your hospitality tonight. The passion was definately there tonight and both teams weren't giving an inch. I thought the marinators were good i definately heard the "we hate you cause your from newcastle." From a newcastle supporters perspective i thought we were fantastic tonight. We travelled in good numbers which im sure you guys will agree with and definately added to the derby. It was pretty crazy in our bay when we scored the goal. I thought the jets looked dangerous but lacked a final pass and the reff was absolutely atrocious. Okon deserved to be sent but there is no-way griffiths dived the replay will confirm that. We possibly should have had a penalty awarded to us during the game as well.
And i just want to give credit to auburn mariner as we were walking out of the ground he came and shook hands with a few of the jets supporters wishing them luck next week. I know that tensions were high between both sets of supporters during the game but sportsmanship is the real winner in the end. PS i knew it was Auburn Mariner cause he had his name written on the shirt.
GO THE JETS!

It became a game of the 2 keepers. Danny was outstanding and your bloke is out of his depth.
Agreed, I actually thought it was a fair shout for a penalty at the end and to see him sent off was a surprise. Having said that, he is nowhere near as good as his brother Ryan is he??
Nice to see 100/150 of you made the effort too

Comments; 1) There appeared to be good representation in bay 16 tonight. I chants where heard all night 2) The banner looked fantastic. 3) The ohh, ahh chant was loud and clear at the half way line. The drums appeared to work really well throughout the night. We referred to it as the jungle chant. 4) Iam 37 years old and got asked for ID from from a security guard at the beer stand. I referred to him as Mr Pimples and asked my 13 year old son to hold the popcorn while i went for my photo id in my wallet. 5) I thought the crowd would be larger. I guess the team needs to be performing well on the pitch week in week out to get the extra 3 to 4 thousand bandwagoners in. 6) We are definantly improving. I couldnt quite understand why Stewart Petrie was in a left midfield position for large portions of the game while browny was on the bench. 7) Danny is developing into a great keeper. He has safe hands in crosses. 8) I think its just a confidence thing now. We are a great team and its not like we are being hammered by the leaders of the comp. I think last night is a good platform to start building off.

Of 16 rounds left (9 at home), 9 wins and the odd draw or two will do it) Equalizer Pryzdacz Still wanna try the Set Plays idea ccmfc.proboards25.com/index.cgi?board=marinators&action=display&thread=1157890887We did get a "MARINERS CLAP CLAP CLAP" up in Bay 40 which spread to Bay 16 and elsewhere (but could have done more )

I thought it was hilarious at kick off when the marinators had this awesome banner which looked great and the jets fan had toilet rolls and cut up paper to throw! ;D How much classier bay 16 looked! I agree with yellowcake about the set plays it would work really well if everyone started a simple 'mariners clap clap clap' at free kicks and corners and we could get the whole stadium joining in. Everytime I have started a simple chant in bay 40 it has been picked up quickly and many get involved. Imagine if Bay 16 started at the same time? Awesome! I wasn't up to my usual standard last night (sober driver + a cold) but I will be back to full form at the next home game and plan on making bay 40 as loud as I can!

Sorry about that, Trogdor, I will buy you a beer at the next home game.
Aubinho (real name Zachary) really got up to some mischief last night. Rowdy rightfully pulled him up on a small matter, and the young one was a handful.
I do apologise to Rowdy & anyone else who got thunderstick-whacked or was generally annoyed at the young bloke. I should have handled him better. Perhaps too much sugar at a party in Morpeth earlier in the day, at which the host wore a Jets shirt. Sacrilege!!!
Aubinho LOVES going to games, but I will attempt to keep him in line next time he is there.
I thought Bay 16 was electric last night. What a rush! The drums add so much to the atmosphere. "Oh aah" is wicked, well done Tupac Bateau (he of the short back and sides). Bananas were GREAT, and my kids though they were excellent.
We were NOT outsung by the Squadron, whose numbers were approx 175. Jeez, they perked up after they scored, and at the end of the game, you'd have thought they'd won the A-League.
As for the game, 1-1 seems fair. Griffiths' red card for simulation was questionable, the TV indicated Wilko did connect with his leg. Viddy got skinned once, and he knew it, as he was filthy on himself. SP seems like a good midfield option, and I thought Kwassy was good in his time on the paddock. O'Grady was outstanding, for mine, his best game for our beloved Mariners.
Off to beat the Sheep Enjoyers at North Harbour on Thursday.

Our defence is in great shape - O'grady is slideing and tacking with ease, wilko is doing well, Vidmar seems to be always in control and Vukovic... is fantastic. Also tomasevic was good in the short time he was on - and he set up Kwassnik's post shot at the end as well. Petrie played a similar position when we last played the jets 2 months ago, and did well then as well.

Guys when i said that we the outsinging bit i was merely having a laugh at tigers comments. Last night was the best I have ever heard the marinators sound as you guys were consistent in your chants. I believe that majority of you also rate that as your best performance. We were celebrating like crazy at the end because we didn't have to leave the central coast in disgrace and we also stayed above last place There was approx 250 jets fans in our area last night not including all those around the stadium. Mike Cockerill commented on the large travelling contingent of away fans which is by far the best for a derby match during the regular home and away season of the A-league between our two clubs. (not including semi finals last year). Plus you know the away support is on fire when the opposing team has to run over to try and silence you when they score their goal (i hate hutchinson) Griffo is a champ though as he and the whole jets team came over to celebrate with us. How come you guys didn't go down to the fence to greet your players like you usually do. We were absolutley on fire in our bay at that stage when we scored i was trying to get through everyone to get to the front. However we were quite at certain stages of the game which is unusual for the squadron as we have a reputation of never stopping singing throughout the game. And how come the marinators weren't singing on the way out? The squadron was singing non-stop right until we got back to newcastle. lol all the attention was on us from the players from both sides (Griffo and Hutch) However both sets of supporters were good and there appeared to be no trouble between the two sets of fans and hopefully you guys bring the fans so we can go at it again at EAS. GO THE JETS
