Fairly average side. Wont win the leauge, should aim for forth. 5th-8th for mine. Everyone is basing their opinions on paper at the moment - base it on the pitch when the season starts!

Comming from the bloke who reckons Crawley is as good as the leagues best keeper... And you are the bloke who reckons Muscat is God's gift to football. Coming on our forum with highly biased calls with a major attitude just makes you look like a fool, and increases the unfortunate perception that the majority of melbourne fans are equally as immature and, um, mentally incompetent. If you are here to honestly talk football, then I truly feel sorry for your horribly distorted view of the football world. If you are here to bait us and annoy us, what does that say about yourself? We are above you. Try Newcastle. Either way, we're sick of you. Go back to your own forum. I already know your response. "I just come to talk football with fellow A-League fans and get attacked...you are the immature one...etc etc" You are talking shit not football. When you can return with a realistic opinion of your team and your players, I will welcome you. Now I must go shower for having spent too much of my time wasted on this post.

Melbourne,
You are perfectly entitled to your opinions. But if you go and look closely at this thread, then reverse the situation with one of us on the Victory Forum, you may understand some of the strong feelings being expressed by our fans. I would expect to get a pasting if I went onto the Victory forum and said some of things you have on ours.
Make no mistake; the Mariners are NOT there to make up the numbers. We have an excellent midfield, and a terrific keeper who was OUTSTANDING in the WCC. Yes, the A-League will be the ultimate test, but all of you will fear Central Coast Stadium as an away venue. Our Mariners, plus the most passionate fans in the League (rivalled only by Pommies and Voortekkers in Perth) will make our place a hostile hellhole for visiting teams.
One other thing you underestimate; antipathy towards Victorians. As Ian Chappell's grandfather, test cricketer Victor York Richardson, once famously said "...son, NEVER captain a side like a Victorian".
Centrebet are obviously being advised by the love-child of Stevie Wonder & Ray Charles, with Newcastle at 5.50 (Aye, Caramba!!!). Perth are entitled firmer odds, but Melbourne at 4.50 is poor judgement.
Hope you can join us for a beer at the CCLC after the Victory's game in Gosford; I'll be queueing up with some of my Marinator mates to have a friendly debate with you. I sincerely hope you bite off more than you can chew, 'cos that's a conversation some of us DEFINTELY want to have with you.

Yea, I'm beginning to rethink my hatred towards Newcastle and turn it toward the TARDS! Melbourne didn't even have a ground until this week! I'm sure we will all take great pleasure in Defeating the Tards when the A-League starts, I hope you have printed out a copy of your words so you can eat them. I for one am rethinking a road trip to Melbourne lest my money end up in your hands, you have proven to me that your club does not even deserve my gate takings.
Good Luck Melbourne, you'll bloody need it!

melbourne, It's good that you are passionate about your team, but please understand that the Central Coast is also passionate about ours! The proof of your claims will be tested on the pitch and may the best team win. I think the Mariners have a good unit and have made a fantastic entry into Australian football already. We already stand proud despite our infancy as a club. At the very least, the matches between the two teams will be great football, which is what this A League is all about. Bring your mates to the matches, get everyone involved, but please don't cause a scene, as football has had too many ugly incidents that make folks stay away from games. We want news about the good football played not some heated exchange between fans. God knows the Daily Telegraphs of this world would love to bypass the football and concentrate on football hooliganism.

Melbourne Victory has quality players unlike central coast. Most of your players havent even played overseas. Just about all of our players have had exprience in other countries..
Thompson, Allsopp, Claeys, Muscat, Kitzbichler and Ferrante are a step above all of your players. Victory is a better team simple as that and with Viduka coming to Victory in a few years we will be even better. Good Luck Central Coast your going to need it!

Arselick your players on your own site mate! Victory have a decent squad as do we, our players have little overseas experience but that will mean f*** all come game day. We have already shown in the CWC that we can compete in this league, our coaching staff are superb whcih will be the main key in any A League success that we get. We have as good a chance as any to qualify for the finals!

What's the difference between Melbourne 'Victory' (yet to win a game) and the Central Coast Mariners? 7 GOALS! We just had a good win the other day against a QLD 11 side. 9-1!!!!! and i noticed all you could manage was a lousy 3-0 win over a central coast 11. and i also heard that your coach saying that you guys were taking the game very serious! We wernt even trying and we still won easily.. very disapointing CCM!
