I'm a Sydney FC fan, and I am definately happy with the players that we have signed. I just want to know, are fans of the Mariners happy with the players you have signed or would you rather some better more well known players??

I think we have the best midfield in the league hands down. The best of two keepers in the league - the other being Bolton. An awesome defence that is young and will only get better. All we need now is for Kwasnik to stpe up and bring his terrific NSWPL form to the team to compliment Mrdja and we should be title contenders.

Absolutely, in fact I think we have too many names No one knew who the Mariners were due to the no-name tag, and we've proven you don't need names to succeed (and they all will be names). We have a young side, unlike Sydney, which has a fairly old side, which sets us up well for the future. The Defence is solid, midfield is incredible and all they need is the confidence up front of goal and they'll be hard to beat. And we all know how good Crawley and Danny are. It's going to be all up from here, bring on August.

Not knowing too much about the old NSL (only from Championship Manager really) from what I have seen so far we have a pretty strong squad who will be very competitive in every match they play! Before the WCC I wasn't sure what to expect after froggy told me we would struggle but I certainly have high hopes of making the top 4 at least now!

Having only seen the 3 CWC qualifers, if Wayne Sullivan can stay injury free, we will be there at the finish. We've got a super keeper, rock solid defence and exciting forwards.
I can't wait for the season to start !!! Being a rugby league fan, I never thought that I would say it, but I can't wait for the A-League to start.
HURRY UP AND GET HERE !!!!

I don't really know any of the names as I didn't follow the NSL - but I reckon Kwansik will be the one to watch, as his name seemed to pop up a lot (as scorer) in the pre-season games (before the WCC)

Kwasnik was the golden boot in NSWPL I believe.

I dunno about the best midfield. mariners do have a great midfield, but I think (and I'm not being biased) that Sydney have the best midfield. Don't forget the 3rd keeper, Milosevic who will be playing for the NZ Knights, he is also quite a good keeper.

The only changes I would have made would be: Paul Agostino in lieu of Nick Carle (lol like that would have happened!) - we needed a top striker not another midfielder, and a top central defender (even the Socceroos can't find one!) in lieu of doubtful utility Heffernan! Given that neither would happen I think Lawrie has done a good job with what I surmise was his limited budget!

I think it is hard to compare the new season to previous seasons.Players in this league are far better than say the previous 4 seasons of the old NSL were the ability level was well down.Just look at how many former NSL players are running around in the lower state leagues and not contracted to an A League club.As for quality in our squad.Front to back and left to right well be fine actually more than fine top 4 fine.
