Guys, just a thought, and I'm prepared to get shot down here....how about a Mascot instead?
Mascots work brilliant when done well, though are shite when done poorly.
If you look at some of the ones in the Championship, and Premiership even, they really amp the crowd up.
...not as sexy as cheerleaders though...

Scantily clad teen girls dont really fit in with the a family image do they?? Sexist and vaguely disturbing that people think this is actaully an attraction.
Football attracts a large female fan base and this doesnt fit the image.
As for a mascot? good idea. A pirate? or a banana?

Cheerleaders should stick with NRL they just would not look right in the A-League.

Certainly there are a large number of young girls who come to the matches. Anyone who would come purely for cheerleaders would come for them. Bad as that sounds. I think cheerleaders are somewhat sexist personally. The wont add to gate takings, and wont add anything to the show.
Be better off with crazy people doing crazy things with fire. At least they are interesting, and can be hypnotic, and before you know it, BAM! Half time is over

I would love to see the squadrunts getting set alight That said it is not a long term solution, even if we only lit 2 a week, we would still be out of runts after 1 week

Newcastle a few years ago used to have a relay sprinting race between the local football clubs with $2000 prize money to the winning club. This went on for a series of home games and culminated in semi finals and finals. Anything to get the local clubs involved in a competition and prize money is great. It adds plenty of interest because a good chunk of the crowd is connected with the entertainment due to their involvement with their club. It provides both competition and an emotional attachment to the entertainment making the whole thing more meaningful. Sheesh, I should work in events. and Wollongong had catch the wolf

The marinettes went down quickly. there were like 5 of them who wore ditzy little outfits and paraded around like they owned the stadium. the rest were mostly older women. Cheerleaders and marching bands arent a good idea. theyll probably go the same way as the Marinettes and we already had cheerleaders 'the mermaids' or some bullshit didnt we? Something good for halftime entertainment would be awesome. 'Kiss me' is just low entertainment. And having a group of kids stand around waving a circle of material isnt overly thrillling either.

"The marinettes went down quickly"
too easy.
i remember being at the new years day match for Sydney v Newcastle, and their half time entertainment was basically a carnival. like different things going on, like that stupid pig trying to save goals, bike races, breakdancers, large girls dancing, and all of this at once- it was crazy.
