Keeping on with the general "improvements for next season" theme. This one involves us either taking on cheerleaders and/or a marching band. Some examples in this video to help make up your mind: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxvpComh824&NR

Cheerleading should be left to the Dallas Cowgirls. Oh my God, talk about Platinum!!!
Cheerleaders are a waste of time and effort. I would rather see Central Coast Juniors playing at each half-time break than watch 25 girls trying to dance to doof-doof crap!!
Our money and resources would be better spent on a women's team, an academy or securing players. I have no doubt that these young women are athletic and skilful at what they do, but this is an AUSTRALIAN League and home games should be all about the football. Leave the cheerleading to the Septic Tanks.

Can anyone say bomber squad. silly idea although if we did get a troop can we grease the bottom of there shoes for the effect in the video. they may kill themselves after one match but what the heck

Yes, most notable being the armed forces marching bands (always one preforming in the Edinburgh military tattoo) and the police marching bands. I even believe Gosford has a marching band.
It just isn't as prolific as in the us where a lot of schools and universities have them.

How many months of these sort of topics before the season starts?

How many months of these sort of topics before the season starts? ummmm about eleventy... give or take a handful. The vote surprisingly lopsided towards the negative at this stage but I think it's mostly against the cheerleaders. Personally I am on the fence after seeing them stuffing up so dramatically in that video. Maybe I should have specified "crap cheerleaders who cannot do anything right and keep screwing up" Wouldn't mind seeing them setting up their pyramid thingy close to the goal, someone fire in a shot that just misses going in the back of the net but takes out a half dozen cheerleaders. A missed goal, but I'm cheering anyway! The marching bands are copping a bad rap by default as they were probably unfairly lumped in the same poll as the cheerleaders. I wouldn't mind seeing them at half time march around in between some players and the goals. The players taking shots at the goals with the added difficulty of threading it through a dozen or so band geeks. Next poll: Would you rather see Nik Mrdja smash a ball at goals and accidentally take out the woodwind section, or some people from the crowd filling sauce bottles? I know what my answer is. By the way can you tell it's a bit of a slow day today? ;D

Well i have never seen a cheerleader in this country get people cheering. And doubt it would bring more people to the game. So personally see it as a waste. That said some halftime entertainment should be done

And no more of that wilko guy from sea fm. ... that's exactly why NO to louder PA speakers (until there's a worthy mariners song the for the whole 20,059-strong crowd to passionately sing along to)
