Those starved of Mariners action will get some sooner than they realise.
Today the Mariners are going to announce their pre-season program.
The first game will be the annual charity shield in which the Mariners will play CC Lightning. This game will be held on the evening of Easter Thursday (5 April) which is only a few weeks away.
The highlight of the evening will be the half time entertainment where Dinamo Marinators will take on a representative female side.
Perm and Tiger, can you check your messages and we can start a thread on this game.

from www.ccmariners.com.auMariners look local to open pre-season campaign Wednesday, 14 March, 2007 - 1:00PM Nik Mrdja & Neil WoodcockThe Central Coast Mariners will kick off their 2007/08 Hyundai A-League campaign with a pair of trial matches against local opposition. An exhibition match against NSW Winter Super League outfit the Central Coast Lightning is first up for the Mariners, who will playoff against their state level counterparts for the inaugural Central Coast Challenge Cup (CCCC) at Pluim Park on Wednesday, 4 April at 7.30pm. Lastly, a local selection made up of the best players from the Central Coast Premier League will unite to face the Mariners in the third annual Central Coast Football Charity Plate (CCFCP), also at Pluim Park on Saturday, 9 June at 5pm. "We’re leaving absolutely no stone unturned in making sure that our team has been prepared in the best possible fashion for the 2007/08 Hyundai A-League season," said Mariners Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman. "Our team has been ticking over in training for the past few weeks and will continue to do so until late April, before commencing a thorough and meticulously thought out pre-season program in early May. "An integral part of this process is quality matches and, in these matches against the Lightning and a Central Coast Select Team, we have secured ourselves two fixtures that will both assist us with our preparations for season three, and also provide the people of the Central Coast with two high quality exhibitions involving the very best footballers from our region." With Lawrie McKinna’s charges currently training three days a week ahead of a scheduled two-week break in late April, the Mariners should be able to field a near full-strength line up for their early April clash against the Lightning. The Lightning, the Central Coast’s flagship team at state level, have kicked off their 2007 NSW Winter Super League campaign comprehensively, having recorded back to back wins against the Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Fraser Park FC in the opening two rounds. Currently bolstered by recently re-signed Mariners players Bradley Porter and Matthew Trott, the Lightning will use the April fixture to fine tune their NSW Winter Super League campaign, where they will be hoping to improve upon their mid-table place finish of 2006. The third annual CCFCP will see the Mariners line up against a local Central Coast Premier League based selection, in accordance with the inaugural edition of what has become one of the pre-eminent events of the Central Coast sports calendar. In the two previous editions of the CCFCP, the Mariners have recorded 3-0 and 2-0 wins respectively, with both matches played in front of four-figure attendances at Pluim Park – Central Coast football’s spiritual home. All proceeds from June’s CCFCP match up will again be donated to the Central Coast Community Chest, a non-profit organisation which provides funds for over 80 local charities. "We’re delighted to be welcoming the Mariners to Pluim Park for a pair of matches that will provide our players at the Lightning and also those in the Central Coast Premier League a chance to test their skills against Hyundai A-League quality opposition," said Central Coast Football Chairman Geoff Johnson. Central Coast Challenge Cup Central Coast Mariners versus Central Coast Lightning Pluim Park, Lisarow Wednesday, 4 April Kick off 7.30pm Central Coast Football Charity Plate Central Coast Mariners versus Central Coast Select Pluim Park, Lisarow Sunday, 9 June Kick off 5pm
