i hope both teams get good support not just ccmfc Can't imagine many there would actually be agin either team. Usually plenty of Mariner's colour at Lightning games. Something Australian about going for the underdog Trotty, Boogs and Simon will be lining up for the Lightning I assume?

There was something in Wednesday's express about Boogs getting a red card....i think? Don't quote me.

it could be in next wednesday's paper mick. the morning of the game. which is not the worst thing in the sleepy central coast where people don't plan ahead too far.

Express - driveway - recycling bin
Would be better if they just left the tree alone and saved all the hassle.

Now there's a curtain raiser: U8 five-a-side knockout. First Rd 6.00; SF 6.30; F 7.00
Jordan, my youngest, turning out for Gosford Dragons. Stoked.

Talking to the lads last night and the Mariners are struggling to get a team for this game with injuries and unavailabilities.
Boogs said he is playing half a game for each team.
Matt Simon is injured and will not play at all.

Tonight ... St George Saints 2 (Christian Cevinini 60', Carlos Villazon 75') defeated Central Coast Lightning 0
Lightning was missing Boogs and Simon Smitta/Porter bypassed in midfield and not influential. Trotty saved a blinder one handed, then later dropped a ball. That's Trotty.

Be very interesting to see Boogs up against HAL standard attackers. I think he has the potential to be a superb player for us if he can stay fit

CENTRAL COAST MARINERS FOOTBALL CLUB MEDIA RELEASE, MONDAY 2 APRIL 2007 ACADEMY TRIO SET TO BOLSTER CHALLENGE CUP SQUAD
Central Coast Mariners Academy members Ian McAndrew, Graham Toope and Adam Woodbine have been drafted into the Mariners’ line up for Wednesday’s (4 April) Central Coast Challenge Cup match against the Central Coast Lightning at Pluim Park.
The young trio, who have been recognised by Mariners coaching staff members as three of the Central Coast’s most promising emerging talents, have been sourced from the fledgling Mariners Academy, which has been a work in progress on the Central Coast for several months.
The Academy was introduced some time ago in order to establish a defined pathway for aspirant footballers on the Central Coast.
There are currently two squads in development, one for 15 and 16-year-olds, and another for 17 and 18-year-olds – each managed by a selection of Mariners coaches and players, including Football Manager Lawrie McKinna and former Socceroo defender Tony Vidmar.
Players were predominantly handpicked from local clubs, Central Coast Lightning youth teams and from Sydney clubs which feature players that reside on the Central Coast.
"By setting up this Academy, we have established a great pathway for local players to progress to the Hyundai A-League, all the way from their local clubs," said Mariners Football Manager Lawrie McKinna.
"Basically, we have 30 of the region’s best players training under our guidance.
"We are training them as adults, as senior players and hopefully there will be one or two players that come through that system over the next year or two that we’ll see performing in Mariners colours in the coming seasons."
Wyoming junior McAndrew, 18, is a versatile defender/midfielder with experience in the Central Coast Premier League and, most recently, the Central Coast Lightning Under 20’s line up.
Toope, 18, is a midfielder, also with experience at Wyoming, who played some of his junior football with Wyong.
Woodbine, who played his junior football with Killarney District, is another midfielder and the youngest member of the Academy trio, and is set to make his debut on Wednesday aged just 16 years, 11 months and 29 days.
In other squad news, McKinna will be forced to do without 2006/07 Mariners Golden Boot winner Adam Kwasnik, whose thigh strain suffered in training recently will keep him sidelined for one week.
Tony Vidmar and Andrew Clark are both expected to play despite minor back strains suffered in training last week.
"Our last competitive game was over two months ago, so it goes without saying that we’re itching to play again," said Mariners Football Manager Lawrie McKinna.
"The whole squad has been ticking over in training for the past month or so and are relishing the challenge of the Lightning on Wednesday."
