Cannot wait to give it to that lazy, arrogant, stupid piece of shit #22 for the Mariners... You will have to wait mate coz he aint playing this weekend! And with a few more weeks under his belt he could just about enjoy playing against the tarnished bling and make you eat your own words. It will be a pleasure to watch him screw you well and truly

The Roar have done us a favour! 2007 Pre-Season Cup Round 3: WELLINGTON PHOENIX 1 (Old 47) defeated QUEENSLAND ROAR 2 (Lynch 41, Ognenovski 50) At QE2 Stadium, Christchurch. HT: 0-1 Att: 4,081 Its only a small favour. As to whether we make it to the semi finals is still squarely at the feet of our players. A loss to the tarnished bling of two goals and we are out. A draw is enough but I would expect that we will go for the win which would be our first (I believe) over the tarnished bling in the pre-season cup

Petro has been said to be likely to be a spectator in the match, according to the Express Advocate. McKinna said that if he isn't injury-free, they won't risk him only a month brfore the season opener. Still Jaza, you can always give him your opinion directly if he sits in the crowd BTW, McKinna also said he would start Mrdja and Hutch in front, with Brown likely to be at left back, and Vidmar to start from the bench. Also, an interesting article by Wilko in 'Captain's Corner', regarding a shirt having pictures of kwasnik... Note we would have to lose 3-0 to be below Sydney as with a 2-0 loss, we would still be above them on goal difference. A draw of any kind will definitatly put us above Qld.

Sorry BobandBIll my mistake. That result 0-2 if it were to happen would then put us on equal terms with Wellington (points and goal difference) so what is the tie break system that would break that log jam for second place.? ? ? ?
Not that it is going to happen coz even the draw would place us on top of the group on goal difference

Any draw or win and we top the group. A 1-0 loss or a 2-1 loss and we would finish second. A 2-0 loss we would finish third behind Qld, then Welling on goals scored, but ahead of Syndye on GD. A 3-0 loss we would finish last on goal difference. A 3-2 loss we would finish top, getting a bonus point and staying ahead of Qld on GD. A 3-1 loss we would finish third, only ahead of Wellington on our head to head result
Let's just win or draw, shall we?
The other component to this is trying to get more points that Adelaide in the other group, because if they get through to the final against us, the team with the better record in the group stage gets to host it. To get past them we need to win, scoring two goals or more to get a bonus point.
If we top our group we'll likely have Perth or Melbourne at BT next week.

I suppose the only thing the Marienrs can do is go out there and smash the FC for as many goals as we can poach, and then let the other maths equations sort it out. I wanna Bluetongue Final!

What day was the semi-final put down for does anyone remember? To quote the Mariners Letter to Members, Pre Season Information. "If the Mariners qualify for a home play off or a final they will be held on the folllowing days: Play Off - Saturday 4 August vs. TBC at Bluetongue Stadium 6PM kickoff Finals - Sunday 12 August vs. TBC at Bluetongue Stadium 4 PM kickoff. Regular ticketing will apply for these games and you will receive your card for entry to these fixtures." I take it you won't be travelling if the Mariners are involved in an Away Playoff or Final?

Well depends where it would be but I'm busy on Sundays, well Sunday Afternoon, if the games were lunch time that'd be fine (can't even do home games on Sunday anymore) so that makes big away trips tricky, but our away trip would probably be Adelaide yea, so I doubt it, not for pre-season maybe in the HAL Finals. And oxfam couldn't give me a shift at trailwalker at anytime later than 10pm Friday 24th August so it either needs to pour or I need to leave the FC game at half time BTW Membership packs should be on the way in the next couple of days.

Omni, you're getting ahead of yourself there, mate! One game at a time. We have to do reasonably well in the Canberra game to get anywhere else.

Well a draw or a win and a home semi, let's take Adelaide away, they took our trophy at home so let's do the same to them!

Should be a cracker in Canberra - Lawrie throwing some burley into the water:
"Lawrie: 'We're No Drama Queens' Richie Young 4-4-2 Jul 27 2007 12:37
EXCLUSIVE - Central Coast Mariners’ Lawrie McKinna has had a crack at rival clubs for playing drama queen blame games with their injury woes. While admitting that the Mariners had a disappointing 06/07 season, McKinna still believes the Mariners do not get the respect they deserve.
“We’re not ones to make excuses,” he says.
“We just go about our business. We played Melbourne Victory on New Year’s Eve with nine senior players missing.
"We didn’t go on about it, but when some of the other teams have two or three boys missing it’s a major crisis. We don’t dramatise things like other people do."
He adds: "Some think that’s good and some think that’s bad but if you look over two years, the only final we weren’t in was the Grand Final last season.
“We’ve been in every other final... the Pre-Season Cup twice, the [final to get to the] World Club Championship and the first Grand Final.
"So we’re probably one of the most consistent teams although last year we fell away in the last few weeks because we couldn’t score goals.”
The Mariners are currently sitting at the top of Group B in the current Pre-Season Cup after a draw with Queensland and a convincing win over Wellington. A fifth grand final is well within grasp.
“The Pre-Season Cup - I want to win it," he insists.
"Some coaches come out and say they don’t care about it but have you ever known anybody who’s walked out on the park and not wanted to win the game?
"If we can win it, fantastic - but if not, we’ll do our best."
While McKinna says the lack of respect is not an issue as far as the club is concerned, he does feel for his players.
He believes they’re overlooked simply because they don’t possess flashy auras like some of the league’s foreign stars.
“Some of our individuals don’t get the recognition they deserve like Wilko [Alex Wilkinson] and Danny Vukovic," he says. "They’ve been outstanding over the past two years.
"I know Vukovic is on the fringes of the Socceroos but Wilko has been outstanding every game because he’s defensive and not flashy. But Wilko will give you an 8 or a 9 every week and I think he gets overlooked a wee bit.
“Adam Kwasnik might show some brilliant individualism but because Adam Kwasnik is Adam Kwasnik, it’s just ‘good’. If Fred does it, it’s ‘unbelievable’ so sometimes that annoys us.
"We’re just good honest guys who get on with their business. If they’re doing well, they should get recognition no matter where they’re from.”
The Central Coast Mariners meet Sydney FC in the final Group B Pre-Season Cup match at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

I would say it is more to do with the server it is streaming from rather than your connection.. if you can pick it up on the radio (96.3) listen to it on that instead.
