There's a nice place in Telopea Park but may be a bit expensive, I don't know the rate. Dru: "I'm sleeping on a friends lounge...For the tight arses" from a guy who's sleeping on a couch? I hope you're paying your friend more than the Formulae 1 rate then

You'll have to wait to see what the NRL are doing before you know the date!
Capital time for deal with Sydney By David Jean Soccer 447 words 24 April 2007 Canberra Times 24 English (c) 2007 The Canberra Times
Capital Football is negotiating a long-term agreement with A-League glamour club Sydney FC after securing Canberra's second Pre-Season Cup game. Football Federation Australia announced yesterday Canberra Stadium would host a round-three Pre-Season Cup fixture between Sydney FC and the Central Coast Mariners on July 28. The Saturday afternoon fixture will be Canberra's second after it hosted Sydney FC and the Newcastle Jets during last year's Pre- season Cup. Capital Football chief executive Heather Reid said the federation was negotiating with Sydney FC to secure regular pre-season games in the territory as an important pre-cursor to a Canberra consortium bid for an A-League license. ''We've only had very preliminary discussions but Sydney FC have indicated they are keen to enter into a long-term deal,'' Reid said.
''We will be exploring that further over the next month and are confident of coming up with something.'' The A-League has already penned a date and time for the fixture, but it may need to be moved depending on the Canberra Raiders' schedule. The NRL will not release its draw for that round until the end of May. Canberra Stadium boss Neil Guthrie said the A-League was aware of a potential clash and would move the game if the NRL scheduled the Raiders to play on the Saturday. Reid said Capital Football's preference was for the A-League game to be played before a Raiders match. ''We would certainly not want to have our football game follow a rugby league game,'' Reid said. ''We'd want football played first on the pitch and then rugby league just to keep the quality of the pitch. ''We'd want it to be in the best condition possible for the ball that goes on the ground and is propelled by the foot as opposed to scrums and tackles.'' Reid said the scheduled match would be a huge boost for soccer in Canberra. ''If we don't have a team in the national league then we are very keen to develop relationships with teams that are. ''Developing those relationships with clubs that are close to Canberra such as Sydney FC and Central Coast is ideal.'' Capital Football remains keen to facilitate a private bid for an A-League licence once the FFA announces its expansion plans. Reid said the federation was happy to continue hosting pre- season games until that occurred. ''We are facilitating some discussion for community leaders to work towards a bid in the event that there is an expansion strategy in another three or four years.''

The workers club has excellent meals. Cannot recommend the chicken schnitzel enough. You struggle to eat all thats put on the plate. It is not far from the formula 1.

FFA: "Change to the draw is the Round 3 fixture between Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners to be played in Canberra, which has been re-scheduled to Sunday 29 July 2007 at 3.00pm (AEST)."

There is a place close by called the Belconnen Hotel and Serviced Apartments. There's a room available there on ratestogo.com for $119.00. Best spot close to the game for the money I reckon. It's next door to a club and 10 mins from the City. Good that kick off is early. Its gonna be freeeeezing mate.

hi all, i wont be able to get down to this game because of my own playing on sundays, sorry. second thing, i have a brother who has just moved to canberra but we need to give him some clothes of his. would someone be able to chuck them in the back of their car and he can pick them up from you at the other end? we will bring them to your house (as long as you dont already live in Canberra ). just cheaper than couriering it down if someone is going anyway... cheers, ~Sideshow
