Sydney announces HBA deal - Simon Overall

Sydney FC have announced a partnership with private health insurance company HBA - as their back of shirt sponsor - and a new program aimed at encouraging children to become active by participating in football.
Sydney FC CEO George Perry and HBA Managing Director Richard Bowden made the announcement of the three-year partnership at Lindfield Public school with Sydney players Mark Rudan, Robbie Middleby, Terry McFlynn and Adam Casey also in attendance.
The Sydney players mixed with the school children of Lindfield Public, taking part in mini games as well as a penalty shootout.
Both Perry and Bowden spoke of the common goals both organisations have in setting promoting healthy lifestyles for people.
"Its great for Sydney FC to be associated with HBA as the two organisations share a common goal in promoting healthy lifestyles," Perry said.
Engaging with the community is Sydney FC's primary off-field objective and the HBA partnership will help the club to realise its goals," he added.
The partnership includes a program, which will include coaching clinics, equipment grants to encourage children to take part in football and maintain an active lifestyle.
Meanwhile, despite reports from England that indicate marquee target Robbie Fowler has agreed terms with Championship side Cardiff, Perry indicated nothing was set in stone, with more news expected by the end of the week.
Sydney FC will take on Sydney University on Wednesday night in a training match at Parklea.

Mariners welcome new sponsor - SBS
The Central Coast Mariners have welcomed aboard new sponsor Community First Credit Union at Bluetongue Stadium in a two-year, six figure sum deal which will give the Gosford based club a major boost prior to season three of the A-League.
CEO of Community First Credit Union John Tancevski handed a cheque over to Mariners CEO Lyall Gorman with Mariners Skipper Alex Wilkinson and striker Adam Kwasnik in attendance.
Tancevski who shares a similar vision for the Central Coast area as the Mariners, was delighted and impressed in the shared vision he and the Mariners have for the region.
"We believe the Mariners provide the people of the Central Coast with a sense of unity and identity, and we are pleased to enhance our community involvement through this partnership," said Mr. Tancevski.
"Our sponsorship of the Mariners is further demonstration of our commitment to the Central Coast Community."
"Our own corporate values are passion, teamwork and success therefore we felt that this aligned perfectly with the Central Coast Mariners Football Club," he added.
Mariners CEO Lyall Gorman praised Community First Credit Union for appreciating the potential for the Mariners with the recognition crucial for the club to achieve its on and off-field ambitions.
"This is a key partnership for the Mariners. We see major synergies between both organisations with our respective commitments to the Central Coast community and the families that live here." said Mr Gorman.
"Like Community First Credit Union, we are totally committed and passionate towards our community, our partners and all who we touch."
The deal with the Credit Union now means that total sponsorship revenue for the Mariners is up 150% from their first year total.

Congratulations Lyall Gorman you are proving to the whole A-League community what a special CEO you are and we at the Mariners are very lucky to have such a visionary in charge.
The foundations that you are putting in place for the future success of the Mariners and also the promotion and visibilty of the Central Coast is a credit to you.
Thanks a lot for bringing the Mariners to the Central Coast and embracing the community in a way that no other elite organisation has done.

Makes one proud dunnit!
Compare that to the Jest, who have yet to confirm that they have a stadium to play in, who's player signings appear to be the usual vapourware, who have just appointed a Greek CEO making the Club now 99% Greek owned and run (Hellas United).
I know who I'd rather be supporting. Roll on the v3 season!

This doesnt really sit with the topic, but since we are talking about how good the club is...
I work for one of the mariners sponsers, and as a bit of PR the mariners invited some reps from each sponser to come to the ground on teusady gone and watch the lads train, have a BBQ, and a chat with the squad.
Everyone was there, except for Vid's! Mr turnbull was there (thank you very much). I just wanted to say a big thanks to the club, as it was a great arvo. I had spoken to some of the players breifly before, but got to meet all of them this time. The vibe aound the squad was great, and our new reqruits seemed to fit in really well, Sasho was all smiles and jokes with the rest of the squad, a good fit for sure.
Anyway that was my Fanboy afternoon, the club did very well. The players were only too hapy to chat and sign. To me it showed up the biggest difference between us the other A leaguers, we are a club, with all that entails, the rest (at the moment) come across as well funded teams!
