How did we play overall? the commentators were not to my liking.

Don't you just love Jets fans? ? Personally I don't like them, especially this dickhead! Just a know nothing maggot!! Because of work I couldn't get down to the game. However I watched it in Newcastle at a mad Jest supporters place. How sweet was that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I chuckled the whole night, while he grumbled. A loss by the scum will make it a perfect weekend. Fab result and a perfect start for the betting syndicate - DJ, you can pick the bets for my round! ;D |

Stupid inane comments, totally one-eyed (blue). Waste of space. Even Simon Hill was well below par tonight. As for Baldy Harper - rubbish as usual. |

Writing this out on the bus home.....thought the first half was excellent, and should have been up by more than one.
As for people whingeing about Milligan being fouled, look at the replay. The reason he fell over was that he tried barging over one of our guys, bounced off him and then fell into another of our guys....
Second half was a bit different, as we had to defend a lot more....thought Jedi was superb on Juninho. Was worried when he got booked, but he stuck to his task superbly. Would probably shade the rest of the boys for my MOM vote.
All in all, what a way to start the season. Got soaked, but don't care....
BLING 0-1 MIGHTY MARINERS!!!!!!!!!!

Just back - what a nerve wracking last few mins.
SFC were crap in the last 3rd and thats why we were able to hang on to all 3 points. Their little midget bloke is very pretty on the ball, lovely 1st touch but utterly ineffective because unless he does it himself, no one else has a farking clue. Brosque is just too lightweight and when Zdrillic (sp??) comes on as your last hope you know you are in trouble.
$1m on someone who can score would have been a slightly more sensible idea.
As for us, Boogs and Mile were outstanding and credit to Hutcho - thats the hardest working performance I have seen from him - top effort. No one hid and no one had a bad game.
Reasonable turnout for a wet Friday, Cove v quiet according to some of them I chatted to walking out - heart gone out of the club seemed to be the general view.
And as for their club song........................the most cringeworthy crap ever. the lyrics were something that Barry Manilow would have been too ashamed to record.

I rate their first half one of the best. Very quick ball movement & retention, keeping sydney on the back foot. Boogards heavy feet & poor pace make me nervous at the back. Sydney's best was Juninho . The little bugga is still very mobile & is going to be a big headache after a few more games. |

Boogards excellent reading of the game and wonderfully timed tackles more than make up for his perceived lack of pace - kid is a star in the making!!

Wow. Seriously, wow. An unbelievable night that makes me realise why I love football so much. My main points from the game.....
* I didn't know Heff played ice hockey - that check on that c*nt Milligan was worth the price of admission by itself. Sydney's diving shit me no end as well...... seriously, it's the A-League, it's just not going to work
* The Marinators as a supporting group have grown amazingly well in such a short period of time - we were f*cking phenomenal tonight. Tighter than tight, stunningly lous, and I swear we lifted the team in that last 10 minutes. I was beyond proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with every single one of you
* The SCC are a joke. Give it away now lads, pathetic. And as for The Cove........ well, they try I guess. Too much infighting and interests to truly succeed
* "Coastie Boys, we are here..." worked really really well, I was pleasantly surprised. Will be using that one a lot more in the future
*Jedinak. What a gun.
* Clint Bolton. Seriously..... do Sydney FC pay him or what??
* Juninho - overrated waste of time. Contributed f*ck all, and the love in from the match reports on Fox and the SMH are sickening. Whatever happened to objectivity in journalism??
* The last 10 minutes was amazing - the volume was deafening, and the scrambling defense from us was great to watch (even if it destroyed a fingernail or two). Boogs' goalline clearance summed it all up..... we wanted this win more than Sydney did.
* FIRE UP FARKIN' is a damn funny forum concept and I reckon we should run with it every time we have a game to go to if it produces the atmosphere and vibe we had tonight.
What a time to be an A-League fan. Love these capers.

Just got back too...
The boys did us all V proud tonight in general, some real heart shown. everyone played hard, a few errors here and there, but alot more solid. Boogs showed up very well, Hutcho, SASHO (we love you we do), jedi, shit I could keep going, but its late, im a bit drunk and I can hardly talk...

The vibe amoung evryone was awesome!
A great group of supporters, who it felt great to be amongst. LEts keep it growing...
