I believe we are the most under rated team in the A-league as the match against Queensland only 8,815 people came to watch us in first place play there home team and also still on Queensland there lowest crowd consisting 10,040 thats over 1,000 who think our football is not worth watching! Also Mariners round 4 match against Melbourne we were still first and may this long continue only 27,351 people turned out to spectate us and there home team while perth which in my opinion are not that great came 2 rounds before and had 31,545 people to come and watch some football and that was the only match the melbourne was gettin against us at telstra dome.

In a word...YES
Possibly the most under-rated and unappreciated team in the a-league, i mean, we could win the entire competition, concede 0 goals and win the grand final 5 - 0 and rival fans still wouldnt recognise the feat. You only have to notice the alarming number of people who sooner point out the lower quality of version 3 rather than congratulating us on breaking a record in clean sheets, leading the ladder and remaining undefeated after 5 rounds....
Something im used to, the way i like to think of it, the Mariners in the a-league are like the Socceroos of the World Cup, people can think what they want but they both make their fans happy and always play better as underdogs

On Ch10 Sports Tonight on Friday the TAB Sportsbet odds being read out included "surprise A-League leaders, Central Coast..."
(Punters must rate us, we were mighty short-priced against Glory)

I think seeing how many media pundits tipped Melbourne when they played us proves how underrated we are.... Still, in Season 1 there was a lot of talk about how far the underdog coasties have come... Look on the bright side - the more underrated we are = the more money we get back from the TAB for backing the Mariners

It's at a point where you just have to ride with it. The media seem to have their favourites or their agendas or whatever. We can have fun proving them wrong. The opposition fans will try to downplay us, write us off, find some other excuse or put their heads in the sand, and they are starting to look so ridiculous in doing so that reading their forums is a nice form of midweek entertainment for us when we're not watching our team win on the weekend. The benefit of being the eternal underdog at the TAB has been well documented here already We'll be off winning the league while they are arguing over who is eating the least dust. We know what we are creating here and we are under no illusions as to how the team is playing. My advice to Mariners fans is to focus on that, ignore the rest and enjoy.

We probably wouldn't have been undefeated for so long if we weren't so underrated by the opposition.

we always have been under-rated - I'm sure some fans still don't even know where the Central Coast is lol
People can rate us as they please, I don't care........especially if we keep winning.
People will sit up and take notice now, we have a couple of socceroos, a few olyroos and we are top of the league. Times are good on the Coast!
(next year I would not be surpised to see a reasonably big marquee too)

Under rated you bet, many in the media have been waiting for us to fall over. But alas that role may go to Sydney lol.
Have faith, believe and support the board / club and together we will build what the clubs goals are and that is to create AUSTRALIA'S FOOTBALL CENTRE OF EXCELENCE in the Central Coast.

We are under-rated always have been and untill we win at least 2 premierships we will be because everyone will use this stupid "david vs golith" or "oh it was a fluke". Unless we sign some flop marquee signing we will never be in the news really or be counted as some "wannabe no.1 team. we always have been under-rated - I'm sure some fans still don't even know where the Central Coast is lol I say to people my favourite sporting team is the central coast and people think im talking about like rockhampton or maroochydore in QLD so thats true.

I don't think it matters. Look at the facts; - only club with a substantial new investor this year? Mariners - only club with a youth academy? Mariners - only club with a real community program? Mariners - club with by far the most sponsors money pouring in? Mariners - only club coming first (haha)? Mariners - which club has a 30% increase in members? Mariners
I think the club, as shown from the above points, is certianly being noticed by the right people in the right places.
