there is no way that lawrie would want him or that he would sign for us. he's on a marquee salary and we wouldnt be able to get him before the end of the season at least and we need a striker in the short term

We do have a No DH policy that he may not fit.... archie is in no way a DH although a little dumb and not very articulate, all my friends in melbourne tell me he is very kind, friendly and makes plenty of time for fans i like archie alot but doubt he would play for another a-league club |

He's always come across as an arrogant so and so to me, but then I guess looks can be decieving.

I can vouch for that Mick, at the EA Sports fifa 08 launch, he chatted and mingled well I thought. When young Matt asked for a photo opportunity with him, he was more than happy to do it in a very pleasant manner.

i'd take him in a shot. having him and sasho together up front (2 of the top goalscorers across the last 2 seasons) at our club would be terrific.
money would be the issue...

I can't say I've ever thought of him as a dickhead. I'd be stoked up (somehow, and for some reason) we managed to sign him!!

I thought of him as dh before i met himbut at the fifa launch we spoke and yes he's not the brightest tool in the shed but he was very nice and approachable i made him have a photo with me and the marinator scarf around him  good bloke great goal scorer.We were reluctent on signin sash because of his attitude he turned out to be a great bloke IMO. |

Thompson and Petrovski up front would be a huge boost to our goal scoring capabilities as a team, for sure.
But would Archie relish the change of club? He seems quite devoted to his family, and not too keen to play away from Melbourne. The salary he would command, too, would probably end up the most the Mariners would pay for a player in it's short history.

that's the most crazily good 442 that i think pretty well any team would/could put on the park thus far in the a-league.
i'm factoring in that next year we may well be without vidmar, gumps, mrdja and clark.
