Holy.
Freaking.
Crap.
Fire the f*ck up now lads and lasses, fire the f*ck up now. This will be _enormously_ HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. The Mariners express, the pub crawl, the hour of pre-game banter, the Aloisi debut, the subsequent 3 or 4 goal humiliation, the laughing at Whoninho (LOL!!!), and the proud walk back to the station and the singing all the way home as we stay top of the table.
WE'RE AWAY TO SYDNEY IN 7 DAYS, FIRE THE F*CK UP!!!!

For a wet Friday night, our attendance last time wasnt too bad. This time is bigger - we need to find a way to get as many as we can and show JA that he made the right choice.
Counting down the days already

There was the question asked about buses to this game but only 3 or 4 people seemed keen so it got canned - obviously the Aloisi signing may change this.

can the possiblity of buses going to Sydney be advertised on the Mariners web site, as not everyone looks on the forum and see how many would be interested

Surely the train is simpler? And wouldn't it actually be cheaper (not to mention there's a student price on the trains, which isn't offered on Mariners buses)

And wouldn't it actually be cheaper (not to mention there's a student price on the trains, which isn't offered on Mariners buses) Train makes more sense and then there's the walk from central to AS, the odd pub along the way with some friendly chats to Sydney FC people assuming they have any left.

Remember if we get the bus down early for the pub crawl and then stay for beers after, we could be paying the bus driver for 12 hours work on a Sunday! IMO train is easier and unless we can fill the bus it's not worth it, I am more than happy to organise a bus but am not convinced it will be full on a Sunday afternoon. I'll get some information up on travel times, meeting places etc on marinators.net in the next day or 2. tbh I'd be upset (assuming Aloisi plays) if : a) Mariners don't take 1-2k behind the goal in bay 3 (if not more) and b) Sydney don't get at least 25k

A train getting in about 1ish would probably work better - we need to make this all inclusive. Families, kids etc. Not just those of us who are going to the pub

I think that the train is a much better option.
I think we have created a great tradition of train to Sydney, beers at the KB, Excelsior. etc, then onto the SFS.
There is no trackwork on the Newcastle-Central Line next weekend. Please note that there IS trackwork on the Berowra to Wynyard line, with NO Trains on that line ALL weekend. Gosford trains will get busy from Hornsby onwards.
Here is the timetable for next weekend:
Wyong 9.51 10.32 10.51 11.32 11.51 12.32 Tuggerah 9.54 10.35 10.54 11.35 11.54 12.35 Ourimbah 9.59 ---- 10.59 ---- 11.59 ---- Lisarow 10.02 ---- 11.02 ---- 12.02 ---- Niagara Park 10.04 ---- 11.04 ---- 12.04 ---- Narara 10.07 ---- 11.07 ---- 12.07 ---- Gosford dep 10.12 10.50 11.12 11.50 12.12 12.50 Point Clare 10.15 ---- 11.15 ---- 12.15 ---- Tascott 10.17 ---- 11.17 ---- 12.17 ---- Koolewong 10.20 ---- 11.20 ---- 12.20 ---- Woy Woy 10.23 10.58 11.23 11.58 12.23 12.58 H River 10.37 ---- 11.37 --- 12.37 ---- Cowan 10.48 ---- 11.48 ---- 12.48 ---- Berowra 10.53 ---- 11.53 ---- 12.53 ---- Hornsby 11.04 11.34 12.04 12.34 1.04 1.34 Epping ---- 11.44 ---- 12.44 ---- 1.44 Eastwood 11.15 ---- 12.15 ---- 1.15 ---- Strathfield 11.26 11.56 12.26 12.56 1.26 1.56 Central 11.39 12.09 12.39 1.09 1.39 2.09
Getting onto Central between 12.09 and 1.39 would be ideal.
State Transit run shuttle buses from Chalmers St for those that do not wish to walk Heartbreak Hill.
BIG, BIG day at the SFS. Get there!!!

From memory the issue with buses was that of those who expressed interest, some wanted to go just for the game and some wanted to maximise pre- and post-match pub-crawling.

Sunday afternoon is the killer for group travel. Just get there , doesnt matter how you do walk, run ,bus or train come and see the continued demise of Sydney and the continuing rise of the mariners.
