As for Jedi.....he deserves a rocket up his a**e....on a yellow, and he does that...sheesh! Seems every time we're in danger of getting a full squad to choose from (suspension-wise), someone goes and plays silly buggers. suggest you look at the replays hardly a foul let alone a yellow colosimo went down like a screaming heap and was hardly touched

He could barely keep a straight face after Mile got carded.

Maybe, but you'd still have to be braindead to reach out and grab somebody's shirt, especially as they're about to shoot. Even if Colosimo took a dive (I don't think he did, but anyway), Jedi was a fool for putting himself in that situation.
I honestly think the boys should've thanked Colosimo - his incompetence in shooting is the only thing that let us win that match. Perth did not play like a team of cellar-dwellers. That 2nd half....I don't know what happened. I think our midfield went to the pub for a few quick beers during that half, and I think everybody just forgot we had Aloisi, he didn't have any support at all.

It appeared that Jedi put his hand out on Colossimo as he was falling in front of him. See Mick's comment.

But, once again, like the gentleman he is, he hardly says a word, and quietly leaves the field. It will be sad to see him leave...

Felt a bit sorry for Colosimo, TBH (that may change if I take Mick's advice, watch the replay and change my mind about Jedi's 2nd yellow, though...) I thought he did a lot of good work in midfield, and helped create a fair few chances for your strikers...yes, he missed a few, thankfully for us, but he was't alone in that regard. I still think he's one of the top midfielders in the league, and Perth are lucky to have him.

You had a helping hand by the referee aswell. I wouldn't say we had a helping hand from the ref. IMO he was shti all round, let stuff go for you guys yet pulled us up for it and vice versa.... was almost as if he had pre-conceived notions about the players instead of playing the game. Overall he was a disgrace.

We were far from innocent (god hutch falls over like an italian) but we were also FAR from having a helping hand from the ref

Hes on something like 220K a season and he sure as hell isnt worth that much at the moment with the way hes playing - He tried to hard and wants to score himself when there are players in better positions - LEARN TO SHOOT PROPERLY FARKIN SIMON.

We were far from innocent (god hutch falls over like an italian) but we were also FAR from having a helping hand from the ref Hutch draws a foul very well - one he drew from Colosimo was the best I’ve seen yet this year had him making up ground to get alongside then in front of Colosimo to be in playing distance, then used his body perfectly to shield the ball and win the foul. It’s verging on cynical because when he does it he knows exactly what’s going to happen, but you’d think opposition players would be wise to it by now. The net result of course is that he’s turning 50/50 (or in the above case, 20/80) chances in our favour and winning possession. The silly thing from the Perth point of view with the Colosimo one was that had Colosimo simply played hard for the ball rather than looking for shoulder contact and then getting out of sorts, he probably would have won the free kick himself.

Conclusions: -Trott had an awesome game apart from his little stuff up. -I hope nothing is wrong at all with Tommy or Owens. -Stop the long ball. -Thank god Perth couldnt shoot and if players like Nikita were there the result couldve been different. -Harnwell firing up is quite amusing

Ursus - check the replay, Jedi hand a hand reached out with his shirt in his hand before he fell. It's debatable whether or not it caused him to fall - but all I was saying is that if you're going to reach out and grab the shirt, then you're asking for trouble at the best of times.
Simon is really maturing as a player - I think the Adelaide match has done wonders for him, he's improving every match.

Fair enough. I only saw it on the actual coverage and replay then and thought there was little reason for a foul let alone a card. It appeared to me then more a "hand on" rather than a shirt pull.
Still he was a shit referee.

I think Jedi was hard done by. Colosimo tried too hard, his shooting was poor.
When you read these comments, it shows how far we've come. Good honest opinions, no personal rubbish, many complaints, and WE WON IN PERTH!!
All in all, lucky to win, but we'll take it. Our next 4 games are Newcastle (a), Sydney (h), Queensland (a) and Adelaide (a). A very hard road ahead, following on from 10 hours travel across the Nullabor. I am confident we will do well in ALL these games.
Bring on the Scum!!!

One positive - three points. Another half a positive - Trotty reaffirming that he can do a job when he steps in. That's about it.
We gave the negatories enough ammunition to call us long-ball blue-collar workhorses for the rest of the season even if we play like Barca from here on in.
We went from a settled side (notice how you can win when the team is settled even if you play shit? it's CRITICAL to keep the team stable in this league) to going into the derby without possibly 3/4 of that midfield, with players hardly knocking on the door with great sub performances.
We score and we go into our shell. We talked last week on the forum about being more arrogant and ruthless if we're to really WIN this premiership. The thinking was so negative we coaxed ourselves out of beating Perth by 2 or 3 goals which we should have with how we started and how Perth played, which was good but not great imo.
Lawrie could be seen and heard telling the midfield to get forward and support the strikers but the negativity seemed to be present in the substitutions. We don't know about injuries and things but Sasho off for Matty at HT seemed like a long-ball plan when we should have been aiming to take back control of the ball and attack in numbers ala the first 10 minutes.
Same as Lucas Neill as the World Cup, the ref probably got Jedi's red card wrong but you can't give the ref an excuse by doing something silly. Very unlucky, but he shouldn't have had his arm on his shoulder.
No other incidents to report, only that for the first time watching Mariners, I was just wishing the game would end, not just because we were leading, but because it was painful to watch.
On to next week.
