Good to see us now on a 2 week high, but remember the mariners are going away for Perth, to the place where they will have the least support from home, and Perth have come off an impressive win against the scum. Nonetheless we should be able to dispose of our good purple friends west of the Nullabor accordingly.
The Mariners have Trott in for Danny as a given, but apart from that and since Boogs is off in Olyroos camp I say that apart from the return from Petrovski in for Simon, we should keep the outfield unchanged.

I'd suspect Lawrie will be playing the old "no one is assured of a spot" routine with Saso about Simon's decent performance vs. Adelaide. Which will hopefully put the wind up Saso something severe.
Aloisi is starting to get into the groove, if he and Saso fire up, God help Perth.
Boogs is out due to calf injury and Olyroos selection, but O'Grady is back, Clarkey is holding his own a bit, Porter did OK interchanging with Owens at the RB & R Midfield positions.
Kwassi is probably still feeling the effects of his own calf injury but may make the bench.
I think if Trott starts out OK he will play solidly throughout.

I would say Trott for Danny and keep the rest.
Matty S was great. Offside or not he put one in the net as well as going a long way to setting up the second plus loads of other chances, and won so much possession up front that a combo of Aloisi and Sasho just isn't going to win. We've all seen Lawrie do it - you play well you stay in. To drop a young guy after an effort like that would be cruel.
Porter - fantastic as well. Looming as the best option at right back for the season. Midfield is starting to work and given a rare opportunity to keep it the same I think we should. A bench of Sasho Gumps and Kwas is pretty handy!

Brett - Porter and Owens shared the right back and right midfield roles. By the late second half, Porter was doing more midfield than RB, but he then started cramping so had to come off. Owens spent the rest of the match at RB, with only a few runs up the right side. Both of these guys spent themselves.
Porter and Simon do have a great understanding going between them, they've probably played that much football together in Lightning.

. agree about keeping simon in - he is more likely to help aloisi
. he always wants the ball and will be even more keen to get that goal now

Speakin with gumps last night he doubts that he'll be on the plane trip his legs bothering him and the other options are workin fine doubt he'll risk it. Simons effort to get his head on that ball let alone get it on target and in was insane it was behind him well done. tough call sash or simon will be an interesting decision.

This is not going to be as easy as the positions on the ladder indicate.Perth have been in pretty goiod form up front the last few weeks they now have the we can't win a raffle monkey off their back. They have scored just 3goals less then us this season yet they went like 5 games without a goal they are a threat.should be a very attacking game they've scored more goals then newcastle melboune and sydney. Having said that we put it together for a full 90 last week if we do that again perth wont come close i'm picking maybe a 4-3 3-2 sorta game. -------------------trotty-------------- stringers/clarky----wilko--------heff -----------------vidmar---------- ----owens------jedi---------hutch ----------------tommy------ --------sasho--------aloisi------
simon/porter/either kwaz or the right back that doesnt start kwaz is ify at the moment with his fitness/injury may be a good game to give him a week off with porter and other mids playing so well. same for gumps i dont think he'll go over either and his position is well covered for now anyway.
Very tempted for simon to start however i think impact player when ther defence is tired would work better for now but definitly i think he should get some solid game time least 20mins
Farkin fire up the kendall will be goin off this week.

Only 5 clear now roar going under the radar I reckon next home game when we chant "we are top of the league" or "aloi aloi aloisi", everyone puts their arms around each other and jump up and down. This week i reckon have a front 3 its to hard to drop someone. Sasho- 5 goals. Matty- standing ovaition, young talent. Aloisi- NO CHANCE ! of dropping him.

Sasho does a fraction of the work that Simon would, but he has a real striker's instinct. Even when he does bugger all else, he's still the most likely Mariners player to score. It is a bit cruel on Simon, though....hope he takes it the right way if Sasho gets the nod ahead of him.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, Sasho is NOT a lazy goal poacher, how many times has he dispossessed a defender out of sheer mongrel grit, he set up our goal against Phoenix from it... If you actually watch him off the ball in a game you would be surprised how much work he does do, ill admit he isnt a box to box runner like Jedinak but you guys are making it out as if he just stands there waiting for the ball. Often he is the one that chases down the goalie forcing him to play the kick or clearance, this is definitely not a trait of a lazy goal poacher as described

Sasho lets the football brain do the hard yards, Matty lets his legs do them.

Sasho is an awesome player he does so much on the feild, he has been our best striker the whole season does 9 times as much as mrdja . He is hard working. And doesnt deserve to be knocked by anyone fan or not.

Sasho is class. The difference between him and Matt Simon isn't workrate it is goals. Petrovski scores, Matt doesn't. Petrovski chased down the last minute winner against Welly and got the equaliser against Melbourne. Matt Simon's time will come but it isn't yet.
