glad you're feeling complacent about that - i think porter's been pretty handy off the bench and gumprecht was a shot in the arm for us against melbourne and helped spark the revival. That's all good and well but they're hardly going to go up in the box are they?

That's all good and well but they're hardly going to go up in the box are they? like get their heads on it? wouldn't matter, we can't cross anyway. now that you mention it, they happen to be two players who can occasionally cross within 10m of the player they're trying to hit, so they might be able to hit aloisi with one? if it's play box to box you're after, they can do that. no probs - gumper only for 25m at max but porter's fine to go all day.

I'm not even half as fired up for this one as i should be.I'm not sure why I guess i'm still dirty on last weeks result admittedly my expectations have been way to high this year but the guys just arent delivering(might be the wrong word) I know were top of the league and stuff but i really dont think we're playing like we belong there. We are getting results but only by the skin of our teeth.Imo we have only looked like a championship team once this season and that was adelaide 2nil. I dont know maybe i'm just distracted but this game is huge and i'm really not that fussed. Altho i am pumped for pre game with the cove that always delivers. mariners will win again tho 2-1 and dont get me started on how big the crowd had better be.

No boogs I am going: Danny Clarky Wilko Viddy Heff Mile Porter Owens Kwasnik John Simons Trotty Browny Stringers Gumps with mcandrew to be omitted the three MOs on the bench but maybe browny for porter or kwas in the above lineup McAndrew will be ommitted no doubt there, all depends on how the boys have trained all week, and if Lawrie is looking for 1 point or 3? At home you would hope for 3 but his line up last Sunday suggested to me he was after 1, keep a clean sheet and hit them on the counter? Having Browny on the left gives better covering options for Heff when he goes forward, right midfield looks a little too defensive IMO, I'd be tempted to throw Gumps there, he'll be hungry to get his spot back. Kwas on bench gives fresh attacking options if needed, as does Stringers with his height, but then it's long ball desperation if that happens. I'm not confident about winning this game, hope I'm wrong .

I can just see it now...
We are down 0-1 with 10 minutes to go, Lawrie throws Gumps and Kwaz on to help Porter smash cross after cross into the middle, where Stringers and Simon are waiting...
1-1 Simon with a rocket header from 15 yards...
2-1 DANNY with a 25 yard "spencer-kwasnik" cracker lay-back from a corner, as FC are to busy marking Stringers and Simon to notice Danny charging up ;D

Would love to see Simon finally open his account. He's worked so hard, and I honestly believe that as soon as he gets his first, he'll get plenty more.
To be honest, though, I don't mind who scores as long as we win - could rebound off Bolton's right buttock from 2 yards, and it would still be goal of the century - games against Bling are THE biggest of the season for me...always have been, always will be......FARKEN COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've booked a corporate box for my work xmas party. We will be in box 38 right above the away stand - assuming they use it. Not sure which way I should point people if they need to up and under.

Only Gold section ticketing in front of you so might be a way to bring the terrace culture to the expensive seats.

I was hoping to at least get some friendly banter going when we score.

Juninho has been ruled out entirely. Ill believe that when I dont see him walk out to warm up exactly, could be a ruse after going to training today my tip is for porter to miss out and kwas and browny to start simon had to walk off because he was sick - let's hope he is ok

i probably still wont believe that he is ruled out until kickoff even after reading this:
Juninho to miss Mariners clash
November 30, 2007 SYDNEY'S midfield maestro Juninho will miss the crucial A-League clash with leaders Central Coast as his team returns to their "real business" after the much hyped midweek win over LA Galaxy.
Brazilian World Cup winner Juninho was ruled out of the Gosford clash because of a knock to the outside of his left leg.
The midfield star copped a vicious tackle by Galaxy's Kevin Harmes during the first half of Sydney FC's 5-3 win over Galaxy on Tuesday night and did not play the second stanza.
”It was probably too much of a risk to play him,'' Sydney coach John Kosmina said.
”I was actually wanting to start him tomorrow,'' added Kosmina, who kept the veteran playmaker on the bench against Queensland last weekend for tactical reasons.
Sydney captain and defender Tony Popovic missed the match against the Roar through suspension, but will return to the centre of the defence with Olyroos skipper Mark Milligan shifting from that area to midfield.
Popovic emphasised Sydney was fully focussed on the Bluetongue Stadium match after all the excitement generated before, during, and after the 5-3 win over the David Beckham inspired Galaxy.
”That's gone, that's dusted, that's finished, it's served its purpose,'' Popovic said.
”It was a great occasion, we all enjoyed it, the crowd enjoyed it, now the real business is back on.''
Sydney beat the Mariners 3-2 in Kosmina's first game in charge five weeks ago in what Central Coast coach Lawrie McKinna rated one of his team's worst performances of the season.
”`We've improved a lot since then, although we've still got a depleted squad,'' said McKinna.
While McKinna welcomed the return from suspension of Mile Jedinak and the improving fitness of Andre Gumprecht, his attacking options for the game were reduced.
Midfielder John Hutchinson, who scored two spectacular long range goals in the loss to Sydney, is suspended along with striker and former Sydney stalwart Sasho Petrovski.
The Mariners lead the ladder by four points from Queensland, who they play next week, and are nine ahead of fifth placed Sydney.
However, only one point separates Sydney from the two teams immediately above them.
”We need to get three points this weekend, firstly to keep the Mariners close to us and secondly to get ourselves in the top four,'' Kosmina said.
McKinna said it was important the Mariners maintained their gap over Sydney and “not give them a sniff''.
McKinna believes the tight nature of the competition could work in his team's favour in the chase for the minor premiership.
”If we just maintain what we're doing over the next three or four weeks, keep picking up the results at home and getting draws and wins away from home, we are going to win it (the minor premiership),'' McKinna said.
”We've still got a long way to go and we will just rely on other teams knocking off the ones who are challenging us.''
While not everyone is a fan of the Mariners style, Kosmina made it clear he admired the way Central Coast went about their work.
”They move the ball around with tempo and with pace, they are mobile as a team and they fight to the death,'' he said.
”I know that doesn't necessarily paint a rosy picture, but they actually play some good football because they are prepared to roll their sleeves up and the football side flows naturally from that work ethic.''

Juninho can't swim so he will definitely miss this game; hope Simon is fit as he probably has the better wet weather skills, you know, run and run, harry and chase, make a nuisance, chase lost causes - can't see Poppa or Rudan enjoying that!

Fish tells me the pitch is looking very wet in patches
