Does anybody out there play Over 35s?
I am just about to begin my sixth season in the Over 35s for East Gosford.
It's not a bad standard of football, for old blokes. A bit slower than All Ages, no doubt, but there's a heap of skill on display. And not many of us take it TOO seriously! The most important thing is the beer at the end of the match (or for some teams, at halftime).

The most important thing is the beer at the end of the match (or for some teams, at halftime). quality! we had a keeper some years back who couldn't warm up until he'd had a smoke, and at half time he'd have a smoke and a beer. don't get me wrong, he didn't bolt it down, so he'd take out his half-full bottle and stick it behind the post. one time a striker made a break and had him one on one, but pissed himself laughing and fluffed the chance when he saw mick was running out, cigarette still perched precariously upon whis whiskered bottom lip.

Well if you are over 35 and like a beer sign up for the Shelly Beach fossils they train at the pub in "off season" and host the "six a side" comp there in the off season as well. They also put in a bit of overtime on the weekends at the pub. Dam fine bunch of blokes

i have just had my debut at ourimbah 35's. i only ever played 1 game before..... wyoming 6's - i quit after the first game cause they wouldn't let me be goalie....
anyway the combination of the mariners and manageing my sons under 8 team last year got me so excited i had have a run. Ourimbah of course was my local. let me say what a top bunch of guys! the training on wednesday night is a highlite- 1 hr running 2 hrs drinking..... we had our first trial match on saturday against mt colah 1-1, and i didn't even have a heart attack (got close near the end though!) we'll take more players if any ones interested.

Started in u7s in sydney, played on coast for 11 years, aa2 to over35s, no 45s yet but i'm ready. Last couple of years our cc league has grown alot and from what ive seen and the results from non cc games, we play at a high standard, despite the pitches.Coasties RIP you never got the best and often burnt the rest, some lost to the game forever.

thanks mate, along with the new lights we could; 1) dig the bank away on the right hand side of the littlen's field, put the car park there. 2) create a new full size field where the car park is now. 3) put another junior field on the other side of the creek behind the full size pitch, where the vacant land is behind the uni car park.... i might just be having delusions of grandour for the club though. there are so many kids and not enough space for them all, it's a real shame - wyong council have a lot to answer for.
