No - close to sponsors and also some people "near" the club via work. Good people who love the game - they (like us) find the squadrunts simply cringeworthy I think you will find that the ones people are complaining are not part of "the squadron" however associate themselves with the squadron by either sitting near or in "the squadron" (i do believe you have the same problem with "the marinators" - i read in this forum somewhere). When i get hurled abuse when im at a mariners game, it is not "the marinators", usually it is young teeny boppers trying to impress any girls near by. I'm only assuming that a similar thing is happening in newcastle. For example after our draw with melbourne on the weekend i went out to derby street (for food). Some young guy come and spoke to me about the game, and all eh could talk about was how he and his mates stood behind the vicotry supporters giving them crap. Now this guy is not part of the squadron, yet no doubt he will be associated with us do to him being a jets "supporter".

I will be happy to hurl abuse at you in 2 weeks mate :-) But the difference is I would buy you a beer in the Kendall first. Not that any of you bother to front there.
The people complaining are probably the same types we get in bays 15 & 17 who want a sterile, sitting down NRL type experience. They are a shy type who tend to appear at bigger games and are desperate to pay GA but sit right behind the goals (or close to it).

Do you seriously think that if it was a mariners v jets game it would be any different?

Yeah but you were wearing a jest shirt at a mariners vs nix game, wearing shirts totally unrelated to the game being played generally brings ridicule. Do you seriously think that if it was a mariners v jets game it would be any different? It would depend on the attitude of the Jests supporter when they entered. Walk in with a chip on your shoulder and there will be plenty to knock it off for you

Do you seriously think that if it was a mariners v jets game it would be any different? Going into the Kendall pre game would be vastly different to going into it post game at a match that didn't concern your team. A number of the people who would give you a fair go would of been in the post match function. As you have alluded to already problems often come from other supporters not necessarily our group. having said that don't introduce yourself to bearinator.

I was told that Dibo is even worse as he works on the brain instead of the body. 5 mins with him & you'll be handing out pamphets at a polling booth. Now that's scary.

A true indicator of dibos subversive powers is that he meet Peter Turnbull once for 5 minutes and now he has invested in our club!!!
