I have noticed over the past few years that when i go out to the clubs it is getting more and more violent and even more so over the long weekends, So i would be cautious over the Christmas and New Year period with ppl on Holiday on the coast as this time of year is when ppl have time off work and can just go on benders, And when full of piss a slight bump can turn into a full on fist fight.

So i suppose whatever you do over the Christmas period just be more cautious and take care.

From the people I have been talking to (including several police in gossy and sydney) Terrigal will be belted on sunday.
As most of you know troppo is leb heaven and I will be steering well clear of cclc on saturday night this week as I expect them to turn the club into a war zone.

Also, today I heard on Sea, that a heap of new police people have graduated from police people school, most apparently will be going to sydney and none are coming to the coast.
Thats really bad because i reckon they probably wont have another riot at Nulla for a while, they should really be down on the coast, just to check it out this weekend.

that e-mail is one of the foulest streams of bile i've ever had the misfortune to see.

it's also been done by a group like the 'patriotic youth league', 'national action' or similar. they describe themselves as 'white nationalists', look them up on wikipedia if you're curious.

i'd also warn all and sundry that under the new terror laws that passed the federal parliament, forwarding e-mails like that is a crime - it falls under the sedition powers:

new clauses in the federal crimminal code, under section 80.2:
Urging violence within the community
(5) A person commits an offence if:
(a) the person urges a group or groups (whether distinguished by race, religion, nationality or political opinion) to use force or violence against another group or other groups (as so distinguished); and
(b) the use of the force or violence would threaten the peace, order and good government of the Commonwealth.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 7 years.
(6) Recklessness applies to the element of the offence under subsection (5) that it is a group or groups that are distinguished by race, religion, nationality or political opinion that the first-mentioned person urges the other person to use force or violence against.

in that it calls out 'aussies' (whatever happened to "i am, you are, we are australian..."?) against 'lebs' and urges violence against people and property, i'd make a guess that passing on e-mails etc could be considered to be in breach of this.

quite frankly, it's urban terrorism.

while folks like those who wrote that e-mail (and their opponents in the revenge camp - i've heard of pretty similar claptrap coming from the other side) like to claim to speak on behalf of the majority, it's clear that the vast majority want them all to nick off and find another way to occupy their evenings and sunday afternoons.

that wouldn't really solve the problem as much as put it off. i think the idea is to all get along rather than put up barriers between people.

and i've got to say, the last thing i want to see anywhere is a 'whites only' or 'lebs only' disco. i think that would be really sad.

maybe football should be seen to be the unifier here. when next sydney FC plays, there could be something saying something like "wherever you're from, no matter what languages you speak, tonight we're a family united by football, and football is for all of us."

This whole episode is very disturbing and shows a growing tension between groups within Sydney.
I would be very sad if this problem spread further afield to say, Central Coast or Newcastle.
If there is a group of people, irrespective of their ethnicity, that are causing problems, then the police are the ones to deal with them. If the problems recur and the Police do nothing about it, there are procedures to report the inaction of the local Police to their HQ and get their responses investigated. There is never any need to take the law into your own hand and dish out summary justice.
And as dibo has so bluntly pointed out above, this sort of activity is urban terrorism. If you wanna come under scrutiny of these new Anti Terror laws, this is an easy way to qualify. No need for complex conspiracies, or exotic devices or religious zealousness - just simply get up, say you wanna crack heads and motivate folks to do same, and you're it! Please folks, do not be so careless to yourself. Such a conviction can ruin your life.
And yes, while the match on NYE is going to be heavily monitored by security and police, it is also a good example for the Coast to get together, enjoy a sporting event and celebrate the New Year - a banner promoting the unity that football can bring would be a good idea.
