Isn't the banner supplied by the club? This is why it has the clubs logo's on it from what I understand.
As for our shirts I think it is mostly younger members of the bay that wear them as the older full time employed denizens wear replica's. It is an inexpensive way for them to wear yellow that is semi related to the club.
The standards I believe will be used at different times to the banner or the standards may need to be shifted sideways before the match.

Really it will still have the impact because the fox cameras are up higher and will see over the standards. No different from the banner going and then scarves being held up down the front. It doesn't lessen the visual effect and just provides more colour

They may well of hit up said sponsors to provide the banner.

So we use standards and banners not to support the team but to appease fox We use it as a vehcile to get "slaters a w#$ker" chant played No it is to create a visual effect and atmosphere that makes the game more appealing to those watching, Things like these is why fox puts big money into tv rights and why some people spend money on season tickets. The vocal support we provide is a lift to the team and the banners also help. doubt lawn bowls tv rights go for a lot.

The fox cameras would not see over the standards, watch a melbourne or newcastle game and u will see this.
Anyway, they are made to support the club not for if fox will see them. If fox see's them and it looks good, its a bonus.

Why should we as supporters use ourselves for what is essentially free advertising for those companies? Because some of those sponsors of the Marinators helped get us going - which is why I am happy to wear the sponsors names (perhaps not so much next time!!) on our shirts, and on banners etc.. While I want to support the clubs sponsors, I prefer to wear a clean replica shirt: a) They look crap with sponsors over them b) They date very fast - 1 season - and I prefer mine to go a couple c) I'm one of thousands, not one of hundreds as for Marinators ones, therefore my natural anti-capitalist bent comes through (read this also for the shirt thread)
