The management of both Bluetonge Stadium and the Mariners have informed me that the new away bay will now be bay 31. For those who don't know where that is, it's the 2nd bay along from the palm trees on the lower level of the 'leagues club side' of the stadium. Exiting the venue for the away supporters will be directly down the steps at the back of those bays, leading onto the footpath (head first! ...- sorry, couldn't resist that LOL ) Far easier for security to manage larger away numbers and just plain 'sensible' in my opinion.

It's a shame in a way - it's a lot of fun having a sing-off with another supporters group only 2 bays away, so I think that we're going to lose some derby atmosphere here.
However having the 2 supporters groups is just a recipe for trouble - I'm sure nowhere in the world has opposing supporters groups so close!
Although maybe now we won't have the problem of half the stadium hearing the away, half hearing us - he'll be able to carry better across the entire stadium ;-)

Thank FCUK it has finally happened. More room for folks following the Mariners to get behind the goals, less hassle between the supporters and the away support groups.
Will be nice for them, looking into the setting sun and the noise from the traffic just outside too.
I think this Bay was the original away supporters' Bay, but the Sydney supporters (the first to travel in numbers for the CWC matches) refused to go there. Everyone else just assumed after that, that the away supporters stood in Bay 13, til the Stadium gave up in the end and moved the 'away supporters' sign over to 13.

Disagree sandman - I think this will help the atmosphere no end!
The groups tend to just cancel each other out when they are so close...what we need have is surround sound.
It will be a brilliant battle between the Cove and the Marinators for those sitting halfway in between. Also good for the TV coverage, and of course this prevents the other problems.

Will make it hard to out chant large away support with their chants flowing with any breeze down our way through the whole stadium. Disagree sandman - I think this will help the atmosphere no end! Well done CCMFC.
Lets just hope the security idiots actually enforce it this time.

pffft "security" are only good at enforcing the trivial rules that don't hurt people like waving a flag with a kangaroo on it or throwing an empty beer cup in the air; don't expect them to do anything like their title suggest... security: the state of being free from danger or injury. p.s. here is a man with a huge cock

Hey, I didn't realise that that part of the stadium was general admission.
It's a great decision. Like greenpoleffc, though, I'd imagine that the Cove will just head on down to the old supporters' bay unless the stadium's security blokes are really doing their job.

about farking time lads. Good TV coverage aswell! While i think you mean good exposure for the squadron, I agree it's good for the TV coverage. That corner of the stadium is one of the last areas to fill up. It can look terrible having a whole empty section feature so prominently while the western stand is packed full, behind most of the TV cameras. (one of the many downsides of sunday afternoon matches - neither fans nor cameras want to face the setting sun)

Maybe some folks who are registered on the other supporters groups' forums could inform them so there's no disappointments. And yes, security will have to be adamant the away supporters group moves, no if or buts.

Brilliant move. The further away from those smelly bogans and their skidmark flag the better! ;D

This is great altho i will miss singin against the cove everyone else can go to the corner where they belong. No, the rule should be for everyone. I'm sure the Cove guys appreciate the situation we have if some more unsavoury supporters groups decide to turn up and occupy the Bays near to 16 at some stage in the future. The potential is there for some volatility that can easily be eased by putting the visiting sides supporters groups elsewhere. Better to do it now rather than as a recommendation of the FFA after some bad incident.
