Gumps certainly had a hold of his shirt in the box, Aloisi milked it for everything, hard to tell, I think it was a fair penalty. The way Adelaide played in the first half we were very lucky to go to the break 0-0, I think we only outplayed Adelaide for half the game. We weren't robbed, a draw was a fair result.

Well done CCM.
wondering how long we (Adelaide) could keep up the pace from the first half consiering the heat was very oppresive.
You were lucky not to go away with the win after seeing the second one go in. What is the report on kwasnik?
The equalizer was very annoying cause the crowd were expecting to go on with it.
Good luck for the rest of the year, hopefully we see you back at Hindmarsh for the GF ;-)

One more attacker out and we're struggling badly.

very poor performance. Still we could of came away with a win but i'll take 1-1. I thought everyone was piss poor tonight except Kwassie and Vuckovic. Wilko was also one of the better ones. Sully and Spencer's had shockers and Gumpy had one by his standards but was still one of our better players. Tommy also had a poor game.
I still don't like Kwansik. I really don't think he is good enough. He did give a lot of ball away in the first half which nearly led to goal when Rech sprayed his shot. Just something about him. However in saying that we will need him for the finals so get well soon. I would like to see O'Grady come in for Clarkey.

No game is an easy game, I hope we can end our home games on a good note and beat the tards next week!
If Sydney win tonight I can't see us coming second!

How can you say we were not robbed??? 1 goal disallowed, Aloisi should have received a yellow for diving, as there was no way what Gumpy did would have caused him 2 fall that way, and if I remember correctly Kwassy got a blatant push from behind on the edge of the 18 yard box, so there should have been a penalty 2 us. We should have won 3-0, and you say we were not robber and a fair result. 1 word mate, RUBBISH. What game were you watching???

While everyone is bagging out players, I may as well put in my 2 pennies worth. I thought Sully had a very ordinary game, however he played very well against Sydney. I think he struggles a bit defending he tended to dive in a bit much in the past but has managed to fix it. Gives his all, borderline. I have watched Brownie on the other wing closely for the past two weeks and I really do not think he is up to A-League standard. He was outclassed in both games and either continuously gave the ball away or was caught too easily in possession, not up to standard. Clarkey busts a gut each week and brings off some wonderful tackles but in doing so gives away too many free kicks. He sometimes looses his man which requires him to go in with these tackles too often. Another year. Spenny is very pedestrian I thought he was ordinary last night but good against Sydney. I would like to see better sevice from the midfield to the strikers in terms of earlier balls. Whoever has been playing up front has been caught offside too often through making good runs but getting the pass too late. Etc etc etc..........
Now I could go on and pick fault with every player in the team, but haven't you all noticed how well they play as a team and how they have managed to beat every team in the league this year. Also they probably worry opposition coaches more than any other side. Let's try and concentrate on the positives. Kwassy found his feet and started to show the promise that Lawrie has seen in him, Vuko is fantastic. It was Brown's pass to Gumpy's great run that set up our goal and I would not be upset to support the same players next year that we have seen on the park this year. We have come away with two draws from the playing away to the two top teams. The boys are doing allright. All wins for the rest of the season.

I really think some of you guys are being a bit harsh. It was 40 deg when they started the game and you wonder why they are playing the long ball!! We have just played the minor champs and not played very well and got a draw, Personally i think that's a good result! The penalty:(my dad says) if i would be screaming for a penalty in that situation then it's a penalty, If gumps had been on the receiving end of that I'd be howlling. The off side:the linesman from where he's standing (not in line with play) he was offside sorry play on stop whinging.. You guys know I don't like Spencer as a player and he did the same last night as he did every other game this season very little, BUT sully was put in a postion that he doesn't do very often and to be honest he's better when he's with sonic they play well together. WE HAVE JUST PLAYED THE TWO TOP TEAM AWAY AND GOT TWO POINTS I RECON THATS A GREAT RESULT. don't bag the players congratulate them.

Sully may have had an off-form game but he usually works his butt off, and can never be criticised for the amount of effort he puts in.
For what it's worth, we would have shouted the house down for a penalty in their shoes! It was eerily reminiscent of Sydney! Having said that, we should surely have got one on the edge of the box as mentioned earlier.
The assistant referee was very quick to call off-side for a goal which, on the replay was clearly level and therefore not offside. Obviously he doesn't have the benefit of a replay but doubt should benefit the attacking side and he was a bit trigger happy with his flag.
We have to roll with the punches though and, as Bearinator says, it was a great team effort. What more can we ask for...

PIEMAN-couldn't agree more! A point against the two top teams is great! As with any team after the game every one has a comment. I do believe we havn't played our best in the last two games though. In the second half last night we were in control. Should have pulled it off but...that's football!

To play a game like they (both teams) did, in THAT heat was incredible. We were sweating buckets just watching! That linesman had been caught out a couple of times not keeping in line with the last player (the heat?) so no surprise that he got it wrong. Given how we played (or rather didnt) in the first half, I thought a draw was a good result. And as Pieman pointed out, we were playing the top team who are no dummies and at their home ground. Good result really. Tell you something else, if their supporters weren't 'divided' they would be awsome! but they have both ends kind of battling each other...quite bizzare really when they both support the same team. There were a few other yellow shirts down here this time, so word is spreading.

I wonder if, like Perth, Adelaide suffer from a 'no derby' syndrome - they need to have two factions to add to the fun! That said, if you look at Sacko's sig, the Spirit had up to 3 factions! lol That is why it is important for the Marinators to be inclusive not exclusive! We loved seeing you and all the Hall family there - three times they panned in on you in yellow - great contrast of colours it is! You wouldn't have heard us from the Sports Bar at the CCLC but we were singing in support of your efforts for the lads! Did they acknowledge you, and did you get to see them? Did you meet any of the other 'yellows' you mentioned? BTW, I liked The Gate's 'plates' - large red plates brandished to get it up FFA for not having the official Premiership Plate ready for presentation at the last normal home game.

He was outclassed in both games and either continuously gave the ball away or was caught too easily in possession, not up to standard. I have to agree with you there. There was one point where someone finally played a beautiful ball through for him to break the offside trap, and he had a 5 yard head start plus was already running through compared to the defender, yet the defender still got there first and all we got was a corner. Not what you want from your wide men, but played the best pass of the game to set up the goal as you mentioned as well. moments where his experience and football brain create something good make up for the lack of pace at the minute, but next year i'd have hutcho starting out there. we have no other options at the moment - besides sonic who scores when he plays left mid, but we probably want him at the back.

this may be a bit harsh, but i have had just about enough of spenny and sully's rubbish. clarky had a poor game but at least it was just one, not 10 in a row. vukovic wilkinson beauchamp clark (just ahead of ogrady) sonic ossie gumps sully brown tommy stew anything but this next week and i'd be frustrated. for a defensive midfielder, spenny doesn't break up any attacks and his distribution is piss poor. sully was horrible on the ball not for the first time, the last time he played well in a close match was when he had to play holding midfield because, unlike spenny, he is actually quick enough and has the anticipation to make the occasional interception and tackle. the best cross of the night was provided by osman from the right, when he cut back onto his weaker left foot and curled it perfectly to the far post. sully's best cross was the one that rolled straight to valkanis because it was the only one that didnt go straight for a goal kick. not good enough for what the rest of the team is playing. no one really played well and i have criticism for everyone except vuko, tommy, kwassy and super stew but one bad match is forgivable...half a season of shite is not...sorry boys! Very f***ing harsh I don’t know how you call yourself a supporter when you bag the f*** out of the players like this. What grade soccer do you play or are you one of these supporters that sit in the stands and think they know everything about the game. Adelaide have won there last seven matches in a row and it was 40 degrees now pull your head in and support the team and have a think about what you say next time

steering clear of the bagging- * mick - kwassie seemed to be offside at the point the original ball was played to gumper. does this make him offside (as he wound up being involved in the play), or is he passive until gumper's ball is played (at which point he certainly wasn't offside)? i've a feeling the disallowed goal was a 'correction' to account for the first... * we were very lucky in the first half hour, they could have had us skewered, and it could have been floodgates open. * their penalty was a fair call. just because aloisi played for it doesn't mean it wasn't. a soft foul is still a foul. * the attitude of the boys is one of the real strengths - it was hot, they were behind, but they all pitched in and worked bloody hard to get the result. i can cope with a lack of flash if the necessary grit is there. * one thing - when a fella is looking for an angled ball through the line it should stay on the ground. too many balls floating around rather than speared along the turf.
