To play a game like they (both teams) did, in THAT heat was incredible. We were sweating buckets just watching! That linesman had been caught out a couple of times not keeping in line with the last player (the heat?) so no surprise that he got it wrong. Given how we played (or rather didnt) in the first half, I thought a draw was a good result. And as Pieman pointed out, we were playing the top team who are no dummies and at their home ground. Good result really. Tell you something else, if their supporters weren't 'divided' they would be awsome! but they have both ends kind of battling each other...quite bizzare really when they both support the same team. There were a few other yellow shirts down here this time, so word is spreading. I think you are right Lou, it is very easy to be critical in analysis off the TV! I wonder if, like Perth, Adelaide suffer from a 'no derby' syndrome - they need to have two factions to add to the fun! That said, if you look at Sacko's sig, the Spirit had up to 3 factions! lol That is why it is important for the Marinators to be inclusive not exclusive! We loved seeing you and all the Hall family there - three times they panned in on you in yellow - great contrast of colours it is! You wouldn't have heard us from the Sports Bar at the CCLC but we were singing in support of your efforts for the lads! Did they acknowledge you, and did you get to see them? Did you meet any of the other 'yellows' you mentioned? Good to hear Kevrenor, and did they acknowledge us? ...you betcha! I told mick on the phone that they always (well, both times so far) make a point of applauding us before and after the game and even 'the bench' turned around (we were just behind them) and acknowledged usI I would also like you to know that Lyall, Lawrie and Ben Coonan organised tickets for the Macari family AGAIN! I tell you all this not to 'gloat' but to reinforce to you all what a great club we have! Talk about 'above and beyond...' ! We didn't meet the players this time as we had friends down from NSW staying with us (dressed them up in yellow and took them with us to the game though!hehehehe) Didn't meet any of the other yellow supporters (was too hot to even get up and walk over to the other side. Seriously!) but we had plenty of 'flag waving communication' with them!

At the end of the day we have gone away to Adelaide who have won 7 in a row, had a bad first half, conceded an early 2nd half penalty and then fought back well and been the better side from that point. As others have stated, remember it was 40 degrees, we were away, and missing our top 3 goal scorers and yet we showed the ability and belief that we can still win the game! Whatever Lawrie says at half time works wonders because in the last few games we have had poorer first halves than second halves.
I made a statement in another thread about the way Spenny played, and I think we could all see that he and Sully didn't have their best games and I'm sure they know that too. But I didn't hear anyone moaning when he scored against Perth, or when he got lucky against Sydney in the last minute? He is our captain so obviously does a hell of a lot of good on the field verbally during game time and training. Lawrie must pick him each game for a reason, and must have selected him as captain for a reason, and at the end of the day who trusts Lawries managerial abilities? Me for 1
Bring on the tards, I'm sure we will put in a great performance in our last home game!

That was the 2nd time we have been ripped off by piss poor discisions by the officials against Adelaide thats 4 points We may have been flat as a tack in the first half but Adelaide weren't good enough to take advantage. That is 2nd place outright.

This has been posted as a user submission to www.marinators.net by 'Naomi' - it is more suitable here. Thanks Naomi! "Noel Spencer is my idol.I think he is the most talented man in the world,i have never missed one Mariners game, and ive been to every single home game, and every game thats in Sydney..i just want everyone to know that girls love soccer as well. I play soccer for the East Gosford Rams, and i play in number four (wouldnt wear any other jersey). Noel is the best central midfielder in the whole a-league he inspires me so much. I think the Marinators are the best cheer squad in the world, u guys make the games so much more surreal i think the boys couldnt do it without you. I know it sikes everyone up thats in the stands when we hear you guys. you guys rock"

By the way tiger ive also been to every game since May and im a platinum member and have merchandise so what’s your point. I fail to see why you come on here and bag the shit out of players who put in every week there your team so support them My point is I do support them everywhere that matters. Unless you disagree with me I dont see why I'm not entitled to express my opinion. They know when they've played poorly, and Lawrie would be yelling in their faces much worse than what they may or may not read on here. And it's not like I've said I'm going to stop going to the games, or boo, or downgrade my support which you so readily question in any way. Know that difference. I'd never like to see us as fickle as Sydney fans who boo their team when it draws and call for the head of a coach that got them into second (plus 5th in the world). But I also dont want to experience an environment where any negativity whatsoever is taboo for no logical reason. I plan to watch this club for the next 80 years and I imagine I'll see plenty of good and bad performances on the pitch. And when I do I'm going to say so. I wont say any more because I have nothing to prove and this is going to go nowhere. But even if I called for Gumprecht to be sold and Tommy to be dropped I have a right to, so disagree if you dont like it, but dont question my support because it'll always be 100%.

I fail to see why you come on here and bag the shit out of players who put in every week there your team so support them This forum is for discussion of the team both positives and negatives. If you want to say we are wonderful the whole time, you will start to believe it and continue to say it as we go out the back door. I have seen many organisations do this. No one is suggesting that the players are not committed and are doing a wonderful job. However this does not absolve them of criticism when they have a bad game. What would any discussion of a game be like if all you could say was "everyone played wonderfully". Get real. Credit where credit is due. Criticism where criticism is due. It is healthy. By the way Mr Beef your attack questioning Tiger's credentials to have an opinion is more destructive than what you are complaining about. He is one of the handful of people who has really put in and go the extra yard to make this band of supporters what it is today and imho is the most astute judge of the game of football on this forum. I judge his credentials by his words and deeds.

I have to agree with Mr Beef the players read this forum as do the management they slog their guts out every week to try and win. We play well lose, we play badly and win who cares about the performance as long as we have the points on the board. We don't have a glamour team we have a Squad of player who love the CCM and their supporter remember they were going to be easy beats and wooden spooners. They have over achieved in every possible sense Be proud of they're acheivments not berat them. every player has a few off games but to call them shite them why bother turning up! And to say it's your opinion and your right sorry but i don't think its very constructive. "IF YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING NICE THEN DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL" (UNLESS IT'S CONSTRUCTIVE).

Oh and I take it that your "IF YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING NICE THEN DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL" rule doesn't apply when you are laying into Spencer.

(when someone compared themself to spencer) here you go pieman ripping the shit out of me for trying to stand up for the captain after ONE bad game. At least I just criticised the blokes performances and have explained why. The one time I was perhaps overly harsh was clearly posted late on the night of the match when i've come home after a few pints and frustrated.

I have spoken to players about games and the management I don't hide behind the vail of a forum. Most of my comments were after we played badly and lost. I think that WT comments were unfair for that game(adelaide) we played well for the conditions and the team we were playing. Enough said!

II know it's been pointed out here before but we went to the Premiers and got a point off them, noone was able to do that for seven straight games, so it's a damn good result, yes it could have been better, but it could have been worse, 1-1 was a fair reflection of the game.

You have walked up to Spencer and said something like "Your bloody awful mate" I think a little humility from you here is needed mate. We all contradict ourselves from time to time. Admit it and move on.
