pipray, you obviously didnt notice o gradys ball chasing when he went in to an attacker who already had a man on him, allowing carle to run behind him to score their 2nd goal Everyone made mistakes tonight I just feel that given O'grady's form in past weeks and with Clark missing that we needed him.

Like most teams it amazes me how long we allow Nick Carle on the ball hes one of the best attacking and creative palyers in the league.

didn't read any1 elses posts so I apologise if repeating but......
1. We started far too slow 2. Our defence has cost us dearly again 3. Our Central midfield create very little going forward, everything is sent down the wings which is very predictable 4. Newcastle defended well when we dominated possession in the second half 5. Jets played nice 1 touch football at times and looked threatening - they deserved the win
Lastly, it's not doom and gloom! We MUST get 3 points next week, then we should only be perhaps 1 or 2 points from the 4 and with our home games if we can get on a roll can still look for a finals spot!

I kept waiting for the niggly play that we did last week against Melbourne. We needed to shut them down but we kept giving them room to move

Didn't Lawrie say that the aim was 4 points from the four away games. we are currently on two, a win next weekend puts us ahead of the Gaffer's goal

Look at the 3 teams immediately above us on the table: Newcastle - poor start to the season and Theodorakopolas gets the sack! QLD - Poor patch of form and Bliberg resigns! Sydney - In top 4 all year but there is constant talk of Butcher being sacked.
Now im not saying that McKinna should get sack...but maybe a little pressure might inspire him to get something more than 3 absolutely shit performances in the last 3 games. However...if we dont get a result from New Zealand next week i think i might be tempted show up the the Adelaide game with a McKinna Out sign!

It's too early to start sharpening the knives. We should lose a few players before we lose McKinna.
I know it's an excuse, but we've got too many players out....and I think we went into this match with the wrong attitude.
For about 20-30min in the 2nd half we played alright football and were in control. If we played like that for 90min we may have walked away with a win.

Personally - i dont see why it's the manager's fault if a team has a bad game... if there is a bad game the team as a whole sucked, not just the manager. The players think for themselves too. If anyone can explain to me why the manager is responsible for the team losing and why they should get the sack if they are in a rough patch, i'd be very interested.
Often people so quickly forget the good when times are bad.
P.S We love you Lawrie, we do!

Ooohhh...a little touchy arent we DJ...that time of the month for you ay?
Yes McKinna did good things last year but from what I've seen this season the team just hasnt been up to it! It seems that every other team has gotten stronger, and are playing smarter and better football whislt we had stayed at the same level if not gotten worse - both in our squad and football on the pitch...And if we dont get a result in New Zealand there should be at least some questions on whether McKinna is the right man to keep us going foreward.

Other teams getting stronger is Lawries fault how you f***n idiot. Heres an idea if you dont like him f*** off and support someone else. I imagine when were winning your opinion will change. Learn a little about the viability of buying new players on our finances and then maybe reasses your thoughts.

Lawrie showed us his loyalty when Sydney wanted him, we should do the same. Losing MB and Heffo last year has really changed us and who knows? 1 of them at least could be back next year? Lawrie is without question the man to guide us to where we want to be! Sure short term success is important but long term success is even more important! Remember 15 players are playing for contracts next year, we could see a number of changes in Season 3?

sullys perfect ball to mori is the only thing keeping me from saying he played shit.
did anyone notice petrie's absence from the sideline? he has been playing well there but he was infield most of the time, and browny just wasnt getting himself up there to take on SP's role.
we need the work rate of tommy and gump's throughout the team. something needs to be done by lawrie. someone mentioned him just going off last season, and i agree.
making subs like last week... taking tommy p off when players like kwassie and vuko were playing hopeless. and putting the jedi on to start when it was his first game... although he played ok for a debut, he put his body on the line. all i can say is lucky we have danny to keep goals out, and mori to put goals in.

Absolutely gutted, the loss hurts more than the GF loss. Our defence has all the speed of a snail on valium, and more leaks than the Titanic. Upfront Mori was playing a lone hand, and that goal C-L-A-S-S Class. Midfield they were there, weren't they?? The last couple of weeks have been very ordinary, but surely we can put away the sheep lovers.

the sheep lovers are our bogey team.....if we lose to them I think I WILL cry.......Though even playing like we did tonight I think we could still beat them (thank god they can't finish).

Yes, but overall its the manager who picks the squad and the team. Guys like Kwasnik should have had their contracts torn up at the end of last season and guys like Tomasavic and should not have been signed at all.
Yes players can think for themselves but its the manager who comes up with the game plans, the tactics and who SHOULD train the team how to defend in training. If you think its the players fault, the ultimate buck should stop at the guy who signed them.
At the moment im not saying we should sack McKinna...i said that in my post...but whilst people can do great things for clubs, they can also become stale at a club and there may be a need to get new and fresh ideas in. If we fail to get a result against New Zealand, one of the worst sporting organisations i've ever seen, then there should really start being some questions as to whether McKinna can still get the best out of this team and whether he can take us foreward. I havent forgot the good, but a bad result next week will be four consecutive weeks of shite football from us. That has got to count for something or are you all so sentimental that it starts to cloud your judgement on what might be best in the long run for the club? - Look at Newcastle, as soon as they got rid of Theodorakopolas they are unbeaten in 5, including 4 wins - one of which was an absolute thumping of us and are playing great football, as much as i hate to admit.
And what about our finances? We have the same budget under the salary cap as everyone else.
And just because my opinion happens to differ from anyone elses it doesnt mean i want the club to suceed less than anyone else - what a rediculous arguement...i still show up to every home game like you so i'll have my opinions and if you dont like it, too bad - deal with it.
