Jedinak is awesome, can easily keep Spencer out of the side because he is a real box to box midfielder. We need to sign this kid permanently. As a few of us feared, Kwassie was kept in his box by Ceccolli (spelling?) and that 1:1 is the sort of chance someone at this level needs to take. The minute St Nik went off, 0-0 was the best we could hope for. couldnt agree more. but i feel mrdja is finding it tought on his own.

The treatment of Jesus was disgraceful...... yeah, his "disciples" (the ones who always stand near him) weren't too happy hey.

couldnt agree more. but i feel mrdja is finding it tought on his own. yep definitely agree here. i feel the lads werent in the habit of playing with only one up front and the two/four attacking mids. id push petrie or kwasnik up alongside mrdja so hes not being marked so tightly every time. and yes, we should have won that game. petrie was right in front of me and was not offside

Mrdja did very well as the lone striker (and let's not forget, he's not that long back in the 1st team), but he'd benefit hugely from having someone up front with him. Overall, it wasn't a bad result. Could have been better, could also have been much worse. We were well on top in the 1st half and the opening part of the 2nd, but Sydney finished the game stronger. Quite a few good performances. MOM for me would be either Gumps or Brown, couldn't really choose between them, although to give Corica his due, he played very well too. And, yes, fair play to Sully too - he is another of these guys who just seems to get better with time - a last ditch tackle on Corica yesterday, one on Romario the pie eater the previous week. Would have been nice to have nicked one, but at least we didn't lose....and NZ did us a favour we didn't expect. The Perth game is already looking like a six pointer.......

What a good game. Deserved result, there was poor passing from both teams. Felt we contained Carney very well.

I think we played pretty awesome last night, I think of the free kick hitting the post and kwassy's chance and I think we could of had that, but then sydney had a handfull of chances too so a draw is pretty fair. Never been a more exciting nil all affair if you ask me.
To say that 0-0 was the best we could do after mrdja went off? thats a bit rich if you ask me. Still attacking, still looking for it, I don't think anyone was out there playing for the draw.

For me there was some awesome individual performances last night. I do agree with what people are saying with this lone striker situation. We need someone else up there, but in my opinion it shouldn't be Kwassie...
The reason behind this is I think he has found his place of the right flank, and thought he played an awesome game last night. Yes, I was cursing him when he missed that chance, but the more I think of it, the more I realise all it's going to take for this guy to explode is some confidence. Just look at what Allsopp is doing, I think Kwassie can do the same
Anyway, Sully had a blinder. I'd love to see him stay at right back for the remainder of the season. Brown, and Gumpy were very good. Tommy was off his game, but give him time. We need a result against Perth, and on today's form, we should get it
Go the MARINERS!!

The heavy police presence was disgraceful - it only served to heighten the NON-EXISTENT tensions between the crowd and the authorities. If what happened to that Sydney fan out the front after the game is true then that is a disgrace and it has to be investigated ASAP. Batons, at a f***ing A-League game?? For Christ's sake, no-one was ever going to cause trouble. Police, if you read this - stay away. You're not welcome and you're not needed. (controversial opinion I know, but honestly, what good have they done??) Given the shit that was stirred up before the game by a few idiots (including a newspaper reporter) they had a duty to be there. You obviously have a problem with the police - that's your problem and it's not shared by everyone. I felt happy and reassured by their presence.

I don't think anyone was out there playing for the draw. Bolton sure was in the last 10 minutes - it doesn't take 60 seconds for a goalkick, I can tell you that much...... Given the shit that was stirred up before the game by a few idiots (including a newspaper reporter)........... I felt happy and reassured by their presence. Shit was stirred by one newspaper reporter. And one newspaper reporter alone. There is no history of violence between these sets of fans in any way, shape, or form - and barring some sort of on field calamity in a future grand final that unfairly denies one side the title, there never will be. There was never going to be a problem yesterday, and it was because of the heavy (and excessive) police presence that a few problems did occur. I for one, felt unnecessarily tense and wary, _because_ of the police presence. Their entirely unwarranted removal of Jesus pre-game only added to this, and I hope that we never have to put up with that shit at our stadium ever again.

They didn't affect me. Personally I'm glad they are they when not needed, rather then not there when they are needed. Didn't stop me from carrying on a drinking and such, but then I was never going to start anything. Cept the knit-off, which we won 5-4 in the last round, one of the Blingers over-stitched and had to go back and clear out a whole row, leaving us to steadily knit our way to victory. Anyway the cops where just doing thier job, appart from some incident after the game which i didnt see, and the unnescacery booting of jesus, but then things like that are always going to happen and it will always be unfair. Someone earlier posted something about troublemakers in bay 15, what if that one little prat did start something? Then Dick No-one would be sitting on his high horse laughing it up. If all the cops wern't there it was always a possibility.
Im starting to ramble, you get the point.
None of the Mariners where going for the draw is what I meant.

Fair result, if a tad unlucky for your lot but another one of those crazy end-to-end games with few clear cut chances.
Was very good to see both coaches make attacking changes and go for it, from 70mins I was scared they would both settle. Made for a nice finish.

I must say i was overly dissapointed at being kicked out. The excuse i was given, was for walking in front of the sydney fans, which i did quietly, without a word, and at no point did it for any reason but that it was the fastest way from that side of the stadium.
The other was for having too much to drink. They said they didnt have time to watch me and make sure i didnt drink. I mentioned that they had time for about 10 police to walk me and my girfriend out, when we at no time resisted.
I understand a implied need to keep things civil. But got kicked out without having said a word, joined a chant, made a remark about sydney or anything.
But to add to it, the police told me to watch the game at the club. And after a few minutes of watching quietly in the leagues, one of the security guards, a good bloke i know, told me the police had rang up and told them not to let me and my girlfriend stay at the club. Why the police did not just say, "and mate, dont go into any of the clubs" rather than lying to me i have no idea.
That said, there is nothing like a 10 police escort out, when you are sitting next to your priest lol
And my girlfriend, at her first mariners match, I am sure she enjoyed her 2 minutes. Why she got kicked out to, i dont know?
Glad to see plenty of Sydney boys and girls out. Always a pleasure to have them in town. Had fun in the Kendall, and am sure the game was great. What was the size of the crowd?

You're a martyr now Jesus! Must say I was shocked when they led you out, and good work for not giving them any ammunition by resisting or whatever. Bloody coppers...

This is most severe policing.

Its really heavy handed. I'm totally disgusted in the police and the way they conducted themselves. I mean yes stop violence but don't go creating it...... Little kids and families would of witnessed it.(Not nice at all) It almost feels they had a quoter to reach for there bloody statistics.

uurgh, stupid police. after the match i was walking through gosford to get to the car and some 10 year old boy was being yelled at my some police officers, the police woman had him sitting on a bench and he was yelling at her and she replies with something along the lines of: you're a right little bastard arent you?! if you swear at me again im gonna slap your face of your head!' followed by more yelling and swearing. What a hypocrite.
