I had a few people mention that the Marinators were again a little quiet at the game, and compared to the last Sydney match I'm inclined to agree. I can assure you that it didn't sound like that on TV! It loud and almost all us (Bays and stands)! Actually, I could say the same for the Adelaide game, we sounded louder on TV than we did on the night, IMO. There were definitely a few times when chants disintegrated into tense silences though

Actually I thought the Cove were a little quieter too at times...
All night after the game I found myself humming to 'yellow, yeah yellow....yellow...' lol
Good to see the new chants taking off!!

Actually despite their numbers I struggled to hear the Cove most of the night. I know they were chanting...I could see them chanting but I didnt hear them much...I thought we had some great chants, but then we were fairly quiet at points also. But thats the way of the game...sometimes the game just demands your undivided attention.

The first half on Sunday afternoon was loud, consistent, and it sounded fantastic from where I was standing.
The second half was waaaaaaaaay more quiet, most likely as a result (as noted) of the tense nature of the game. Had there been a goal though I could just about guarantee that there would have been an explosion of noise (and not just for the goal - but for a good 5, 10 minutes afterwards).
And Dibo, I must agree. As standard and generic as "Mariners *clap**clap**clap*" is, that last 5 minutes when it didn't stop sounded really good.

On the way back from the ladies' room Teriyaki and I noticed how loud Bay 16 was.
At the time, the Cove was between us and Bay 16.
Awesome.

On the whole "being loud on TV" thing, I did notice an effects mike up on the camera tower on sunday arvo, so that was probably helping.
