Anyone know what was the problem at the station parking after the match? There was a complete standstill for half an hour...

I saw a big crowd as I was leaving the stadium looking in at somethign but I was heading off in a different direction so I thought nothign of it. Glad to hear the guy is ok. But why are the Police allowed to get away with that sort of crap? There was nothing that happened that warranted most of their actions. Its that sort of heavy handedness that will give us the reputation of the EPL which we are not and with continued maturity wont ever be.

Those that believe that the Police did something wrong or saw them allegedly acting in a manner that you would consider unprofessional should make an official complaint. And by saying OFFICIAL, I mean going to the complaints procedure against Police, rather than bothering Bluetongue Stadium Management or the Mariners. Their hands are tied. Otherwise, it's pointless raising the issue here. If anyone wants to make a complaint against a Police Officer check this site below, go to "How To.." and click on appropriate section for info. www.police.nsw.gov.au

I don't think that was an easy chance though....Bolton had the angle totally covered, there wasn't much goal left for Kwassie to shoot into. I don't really hold that miss against him. see the replay again. i gave him the benefit of the doubt until i saw the highlights. a lot of the goal was quite open Indeed, from the ground Bolton was lying on, out-stretched to the bar above him......totally open. If he'd gone for a bit of 'lift' instead of just focusing on the 'width' he might of just got it, putting it above Bolton into the inside netting. Ahhhhhhhh hindsight.

I must say i was overly dissapointed at being kicked out. The excuse i was given, was for walking in front of the sydney fans, which i did quietly, without a word, and at no point did it for any reason but that it was the fastest way from that side of the stadium. The other was for having too much to drink. They said they didnt have time to watch me and make sure i didnt drink. Listen Jesus, you really need to lay off with that 'turning the water into wine' stunt. I know it comes in handy when it's one of the disciples shout at the bar and he uses the old 'i left my wallet on the mule' excuse, but seriously mate getting thrown out is just to big of a cross to bear, even for you. Much rather see you in the Bay for the full 90 mins ( I know you weren't to blame).

On a more serious note, did anyone happen to notice anything different in the 'end of match' coverage by FOX? Watching it I spotted my mug-head standing at the back of the bay with Grunta and then they panned over to the aisle and tightly focused, (close up of faces) on the Cove supporters walking behind the bay on their way out. Next shot was of all fans walking in that same area, walking along the thorough fair, also some shots of fans walking towards Iguana's. I have never seen footage like this before at the end of our matches on FOX. I suspect the 'article' had a lot to do with it. Perhaps the 'Riot Squad' had asked FOX to focus on these area's as spectators exited, in the event of trouble, then could use the said footage to try and help identify peep's of interest.

find it hard to believe that a lot of media considered the game boring, tame and dragged out the old, 1 up front playing for a draw, tactical rubbish.personally i reckon the game was very exciting. The article in mondays SMH was very negative and Micheal Cockshort even gave the impression he was at the game, must have been in a box watchin something else on the tele. Just typical of the poor media the marriners seem to attract. At least the media attention(not) will fire up the team and not create big heads. ;D

It sounds like from what I've heard when I've watched it on Fox and the stuff Ive read that theres still a cloud hanging over the HAL from the old NSL days.

One thing that i dont think has been touched on is that this game was the first time in 25(?) matches which Sydney have been kept scoreless. Credit to our defence

Though, I was given the hint by my mate who was not in 16, that when we were walking in front of the cove, they became noticably louder. He suggested that because of that, the cops might have been trying to find out why. And when I got a reception at 16 they assumed I had done something while at the Coves bay, rather than just quickly walk through it. Who knows. I dont even think the cops knew why they were throwing us out.

Out of all the supporters there and the only ones looking for trouble were the cops...
Good call Rowdy on the 'water into wine' bit...lol
I thought it was a very enjoyable and exciting match , but I've heard a few say it was scrappy and boring.

It was heart in the mouth stuff for much of the 90 minutes. The only reason I could ever see it as boring would be for someone with no interest in any of the teams, but even then....

I was on the edge of my recliner the whole match. i guess the media have never heard of an exciting 0-0 draw the entertainment and atmosphere were fantastic. Proof that goals are not always necessary for those two factors.

I had a few people mention that the Marinators were again a little quiet at the game, and compared to the last Sydney match I'm inclined to agree. My response was that the game was just too tense to be cheering - as soon as anything happened people stopped singing and started biting their nails to see if anything would come out of this play
