From www.theworldgame.com.auCentral Coast Mariners midfielder Mile Jedinak will face a disciplinary hearing following an incident in the 70th minute of Saturday's A-League match against Queensland Roar. Jedinak was given a straight red card for an ugly two-footed challenge on Hyuk-Su Seo at Central Coast Stadium. The home side went on to lose the match 3-2. Jedinak will answer the charge at 5pm (AEDT) on Thursday at the Football Federation Australia Headquarters in Sydney. 1. bugger 2. where is fish's hearing 3. Jedi use the force to get away with it ;D

It's a fair cop, was a disgusting challenge, Seo is very lucky to still be walking.

Having watched replays of it multiple times, i agree it was filthy, but it also looks like during the air he thinks "oh shit" and tries to pull out. He bends his legs and ends up making contact with his shins not his studs

exactly...he was going for the ball. It was a yellow card I suppose, but not a red. The ref didnt havea good angle, and his calls were inconsistent throughout the whole game.

So I ask again...Why did everyone boo Seo...? i cant comment for everyone but from where i was it was really hard to see it clearly, being biased to the home team thats the normal reaction - but on closer inspection it was a red card - use the force jed

The offence is the intent and the fact that he showed his studs and went in 2 footed. Any player at any level of the game knows that you dont start a challenge by diving in 2 footed.
He deserved to go and a 3 game ban is fair.
Few people around me booed - most of us just shook our heads
ps - as he was on a yellow already, another one would have got him sent off anyway.........

As I said in the other thread it looked WAY worse than it was.
Seo slid in, straight at Jedinak, with both studs showing. Jedinak jumped in, but the difference was the timing. If Jedinak had challenged a quarter of a second earlier he would've been there first and Seo would've been sent off.
I don't think Seo was hurt at all. Look at the challenge. Jedinak tried to abort his challenge, as such his studs grazed Seo's calf, and there was some leg clash (not with studs) around the legs, I don't think the impact wount up being that hard. Then Seo's rolling around clutching one leg, than the other....goose. He deserved to get boo'd.
I don't think Jedinak had any ill intent, but it was a pretty terrible challenge and a red was the only option. I hope he doesn't cop too much for it though...

So I ask again...Why did everyone boo Seo...? So you did. In retrospect we were wrong, but... I think the culture in this country is that second only to diving we HATE players on the ground displaying unimaginable agony with an apparent life-threatening injury, then rising as if from the dead to play on. This is a blight on many overseas leagues. Seo broke that rule and our displeasure was shown when he walked in after the game. Secondly the refereeing was inconsistent through the game and as few spectators in the stands got a good look, it's easy to find cause to defend our player at home. If a replay had been promply shown on the big screen we would have all known and probably been more circumspect. I don't see why we can't (as we don't and it irks me) see a replay of what's lead up to most critical stoppages (e.g. the penalties). Is it to protect the ref from having errors highlighted?

I've heard it's to prevent the crowd getting fired up.....to prevent crowd troubles
But it irritates me as well.

this citing is rubbish. he rightly got a red card, and that should be the end of it. kevin muscat can push over the opposing coach in kosmina technical area, and be let off under the 'referee dealt with it during the match' crap. he will get his automatic suspension, and should be left at that

Yes, a bad tackle. Yes, probably a straight red, and if not, definitely a yellow (and thus his second, so a red anyway). But f*ck you Seo you raging cheat - you are the very definition of the biggest problem in football today...... next time Jedi might actually touch you with his studs - _then_ you'd be in pain you raging dickhead.
Yes, I hate simulation.
