Ive had 50 differing opinions on niko after listening to hear say and rumour. I had a good chat to him at training this week and he really seems genuinely shatterd that hes not playing.Gave me a run down on his knee and his prognosis and it was pretty clear he is feeling under the pump. I for one actually want him to make it back if only to show he really does wants to be here. Did you chat with John?

I did have sympathy, however after seeing him partying like its 1999 the respect is gone. 99 was a good year, but I personally liked 97-98 better, as people were thinking about partying like it's 1999, but when it was 99 it was a bit of a let down

i'm not down with the whole lynch mob thing, but i'm not exactly weeping at the prospect of nik moving on. it's been more sad than anything else that he's had these injury problems. there's a helluva lot going around the traps about whether he's looking after himself etc. - tbh he's a professional sportsman and is fair game for that. it's not our job to get him fit. us believing in him and wanting him back on the park will help no more than him believing in himself and wanting to be there. he *is* talented, we know that. he scares the shit out of defenders and he earnt that socceroos cap. but he's got to show he wants it. so i agree with rubbernose and brett - this is a good move by lawrie and i think if he wants it he will have a chance here. as said before, boogs is the most obvious example of how this could work for him. and i think fish's take is important too - if he knows it's up to him, then there's really nothing more to it than that. either his knee will be ok or not, but the rest really is up to him. but i really really want to see more of this:

I for one would like to see him back fit as he showed in those three games he is the best striker in the A-League and there are not to many quality strikers out there to replace him

Either that or iv had enough of hearing how he is out at all hours of the night when he is allegedly injured If you have an injured arm, do you go bowling? If you have an injured back, do you help a mate move house? No Do you see where im going with this? so going to Largo is like moving house with a bad back.. apparently he doesnt go to hillsomg either.. f***in lynch mob, the only place you are going is to the hanging tree. kwasnik last year, mrdja this year. Hillsong hey, that is the Christain church in sydney

I hope he recovers, does the job for lightning, and comes back in to give us 3 awesome strikers next year.
Also, since Aloisi is not definate for next year, if Mrdja is fit, he is hard to go past.

Quote from Kosmina in an article The Age;
Kosmina took his first session with his new team yesterday and said "winning is a state of mind".
"Football's all about what's in your mind, it's not about what's in your feet," he said.
"If your head's not right, your feet aren't going to work properly and your body won't work properly. If you've got the right attitude, it goes a long way.
Sound familiar.......Mrdja?

Can I (on behalf of animal lovers) go back to the clubbing and fishing accusation.
Bit cruel, hooking a fish then clubbing the farker when you get it landed.
Seriously, has anyone actually SEEN Nik dancing on said dodgy knee in Largo??

I saw Nik riding a skateboard - don't think that should happen on a dodgy knee.
