Sasho would not fit McKinna's "no dickhead" policy Lawrie and Fergie may be able to control him (or may think so), Lawrie would only go for someone he thought would fit into the camp and not create a negative environment. Sometimes a change in club for a player can work wonders? Sasho would score goals on the coast I'm sure and that's what we need. In saying that, we all know his attitude is questionable? Time will tell

As far as Rodriguez goes, don't sign him. Although he is a wonderful player with attacking flair and can score goals, I don't think it would be right to steal off another club at this early stage of the A-League. Look at what he has done for the Newcatle region. His combination with Nicky Carle has got them into the semi's and possibly further. From what I can gather he has got the Jets more media coverage. ) CRAP......if you can sign a player, you sign the player, not worry about whether it is going to affect newcastle. He is not contracted, therefore we have every right to have a crack at him. If rodriguez was to leave for us or sydney etc etc, newcastle could only have themselves to blame for not re-signing him earlier

I think signing a player that would weaken the Jest, reduce their media coverage etc is a commendable goal :-) I bet I can guess who Penrith follows...........
Players are working professionals with a short career life - they need to make as much $$ as they can to set them up for the future. I'm not talking about a top pro who can make it on one contract but ordinary players who could possibly earn more outside the game.
If a competitor offered you more money to perform the same role you would have to consider it. The effect of you leaving wouldnt/shouldnt be an issue.

People do it their jobs all the time - move from one organisation to another for more money. They even go to rival firms. Players are just trying to get the most out of their limited careers.

That's right, I am a Mariners fan and have been a season ticket holder for the first two years and been in Bay 16 for that whole time !!!!! The point I was trying to make is that I want the league to be strong and to succeed. By not signing Milton and going out and buying new/fresh talent we are, hopefully, going to increase the exposure of the league, not just in our little corner of the game, but throughout the competition. By getting a foothold into the the already established sporting market. The Knights NRL side basically own Newcastle. Any good publicity the Jets can get is great, not just for Newcastle, but for the A-LEAGUE !!!! If Milton decides to come here, then that's great to us. i was thinking about the league as a package not just the Mariners !!! i suppose my view is going to be a lot different to others, but this is what this forum is about isn't

Well Johns has been writing alot of favourable things for the Jest. And he is the king of scumcastle. So dont think exposure will overly diminish up there.

And if they ever start losing Media coverage up there they can always bring him on as a Guest player, if he can play cricket for NSW and get 9 runs in a 2020 game surely he can play 4 games for Newcastle.

The Knights are the ruling class of Newcastle and Johns is their king. We have the the oppurtunity to set up a similar situation here on the coast with Lawrie as our King. All we have to do is win a championship. The Mariners need 3 quality strikers and we'll win the premiership and championship double and as a result CCMFC will be forever a part of the central coast, surely more important than the Jets getting a higher level of media coverage. We also need the coup of singing good stikers to instill optimism in the fair weather fans for next season.

Express advocate says Jedinak has been offered a contract for 2007/8 season as cover for Spencer! Less money then Spencer so they say so that the Mariners save a bit of cash for a skriker. Other people offered contracts have been Osman, O'grady, Trott, KWASNIK (!), Porter, Wilko and Brown. Incindentely O'Grady was mentioned twice in the same sentence - ? They are also to talk to McMaster about a contract, and are yet to decide about Petrie. Spencer said he knew he was sacked before the Adelaide match. Maybe that's why he didn't play well. He also said he does not won't to play in a league lower than the A-league, and Sydney FC has been mentioned, as well as another unkown A-league club. Spencer also thanks us, the fans Not sure if players not mentioned (such as Simon) will be cut or not. Maybe they won't be talked to for a while longer.
