Must keep Sully. Or else i will look out of place with my "sully" "2" jersey anyone be interested in gibson or buess? maybe if ogrady moves on gibson or buess are not worthy enough to lick o'grady's boots lawrie has stated that the players he brings in will have to better or equal to the current squad and people on here are suggesting that we get qld's hand-me-downs today's telegraph has stated that the mariners are releasing three players and that porter, simon, trott and boogaard will go back to the lightning and play for a contract next season the telegraph also said we are negotiating with three strikers in the a-league, two of which are involved in finals series my guess: - mori - bridge - petrovski I wouldn't bother with Gibson or Buess unless they are going very cheap, but I can't see them accepting too low a wage. Would only be squad players and not definite first 11 men! If Porter, Trott, Boags and Simon return to Lightning who will pay them? Won't be Lightning ..... lol ..... Boags has been linked to Manly also from what I've heard. The 1 which isn't involved in the finals series could be another name that has floated round here, Simon Lynch? Doesn't appear to have been in Farina's thoughts too much since taking over plus with the Scottish connection you never know? I think he could do a decent job with regular game time and service but I guess it depends what QLD have planned. Rodriguez is another possible name? He's also linked with Sydney? Any of those 3 you mentioned thou Mick I think would be a good signing for the club, Mori I don't think will be interested in a full time gig next year but you never know?

I was tossing up between Mori and Lynch but though Lynch was on contract so discounted him.
Milton would certainly be commanding some big money given Newcastle want him to stay and Sydney are after him.

as you say dj lightning are trying to get players in of a good calibre and are trying to have a working relationship with the ccm.
in tigers team he has oliver bozanic - does anyone know where he is at in regards of being signed by reading or having an overseas contract. if not, give him a gig.
simon lynch would be ok if he can produce the goods, but do need a quality front guy not a injured all year one and the south american flair is always hard for defenders to handle.
osman - on the performance the other nite i would let him go. plays the wide right well, but not strong enough and his passing let him down a fair bit.
would start kwassie as a wide right. has pace and works his butt off week in/week out.

osman is a great squad player - versatile, technically gifted, wins every header i have seen contest and is still very young.
these are the type of players you need to fit under the salary cap
and any player who has scored the winner in last year's semi against the uneducated gets my tick every time

Finals player won't be Petrovski, I understand he's heading to Japan. More likely that the two are Bridge and Milton. Jeez, that'd annoy the scum no end, wouldn't it? Others - Fernando Rech - is he off contract? Has worked with a number of our squad before at Parramatta. Alsopp? Thompson? If we're talking to Zdrilic then I'm going to eat my hat. I don't know who else we'd talk to...

Oh priceless if we could snare their two strikers as an instant strike force package.

After a great start to the season Owens does not seem to be getting much match time lately. A move will probably do him good.

If Mori could be tempted for one last season it would appear to me that he fitted best with us, both for us and him. I think he would probably be worth the amount of cash that would be needed to twist his arm. And as he is interested in coaching maybe an offer to coach our youth team in 08/09 may be enough to turn his head. He still seems to have the passion and he is a professional.
Imagine signing Djite and Mori?
I dream about winning the lottery too. ;D

Owens has been linked to us for a while due to his wife being pregnant and wanting to move back closer to home. At the last post match when he left I said "see you next year Greg" to which he laughed lol
Bridge has had a good year in season 2, with his youth and pace would certainly be a handy striker to have.

Owens would be good value for our midfield and has also played a couple of times in defence this season and versatility seems to be a key attribute for most of our players.

Mariners release three players
Thursday, 25 January, 2007 - 1:34PM Central Coast Mariners FC have today confirmed that defenders Wayne O’Sullivan and Vuko Tomasevic and mid-fielder Noel Spencer have not been offered new contracts for the 2007/08 season and have been granted permission to speak with other clubs with a view to securing new deals elsewhere.
Mariners Executive Chairman, Lyall Gorman, paid tribute to the trio, saying that they had each played a huge part in continuing the strong establishment of the club both on and off the field.
“Wayne, Noel and Vuko are players who have made a significant contribution to developing our club and we thank them for what they have done here, as well as wishing them well for the future,” Gorman said.
Spencer’s Mariners career saw the Sydney-born midfielder captain the Central Coast to four domestic Grand Final appearances – including the inaugural Hyundai A-League showpiece at Aussie Stadium in March 2006.
Spencer departs the Central Coast as the club’s second highest capped player and equal fourth most prolific goal scorer, having notched 55 appearances and 7 goals in all competitive matches spanning two seasons in yellow and navy.
O’Sullivan, like Spencer, was one of the cornerstone members of the Mariners’ 2005/06 Grand Final charge, starting all but three of the Mariners’ Hyundai A-League matches in season one and netting one regular season goal.
O’Sullivan recorded 47 competitive appearances for the Central Coast over two seasons – making the former Irish youth international the Mariners’ equal sixth highest capped player of all time.
Tomasevic was one of coach Lawrie McKinna’s five new signings for the 2006/07 Hyundai A-League season, having joined the Mariners via NSW Premier League heavyweights the Marconi Stallions.
Tomasevic started each of the Mariners 2006 Pre-Season Cup matches and made eleven Hyundai A-League appearances.
"We are doing all that we can to ensure that we are a force to be reckoned with next season, and an obvious part of this is reviewing our playing roster and making what we feel to be necessary adjustments," said Mariners Football Manager Lawrie McKinna. "We have identified areas of our squad that need improvement and areas where we are perhaps overstocked”.
“Unfortunately in the world of professional football, releasing existing players is part of that process.”
"Sully, Spenny and Vuko have made tremendous contributions to our club during their time here and I’d like to wish them all the best with their future football endeavours," said McKinna.
Vuko and spenny no surprises but Sully? thought he deserved a new deal.
