I hope Lawrie has a very good replacement for Sully because he was one of our best this year IMO. Also I now need to get a new Avatar. With the Telegraph saying that Lawrie is talking to two players still in the finals then it couldn't be Mori because Qld aren't there. Aslso I doubt that he'd be talking to Petrovski.

This question is a little of topic but i didn't want to start a new thread for it. Will our current major sponsor "Central Coast" continue to sponsor the team next season?

With the Telegraph saying that Lawrie is talking to two players still in the finals then it couldn't be Mori because Qld aren't there. Aslso I doubt that he'd be talking to Petrovski. telegraph said two strikers in finals series and one striker not Apart from the rumour Owens is perhaps linked with the Mariners, other rumours circulating are that Adelaide are about to sign 3 new players, and would need to make further room for them. These 3 new players are apparently an A-League midfielder/defender, a 'new' Socceroo and a current/previous Socceroo. Speculative rumours on top of that are those 3 are Dilevski, Stefanutto, and.....Agostino. I believe Agostino is a possibility. Some Adelaide people are even speculating that John Aloisi has recently more warmed to the idea... I think it's entirely possible that of the 2 strikers from 'finals' sides, 1 could be from Adelaide. But I'm bored, so lets look at all the possibilities. Not entirely sure of all their contract situations... MelbourneDanny Allsopp - highly doubtful Archie Thompson - even more highly doubtful James Robinson - possible I guess I'd assume Robinson is the only realistic possibility there. On/Off contract? NewcastleMilton Rodriguez - possibly too expensive Vaughan Coveny - still on contract, I think? Tolgay Ozbey - possible, I suppose, but I doubt it Joel Griffiths - still on contract I think? Mark Bridge - dunno. I'm guessing the most likely is Bridge, or Ozbey. SydneyPetrovski - off to Japan, apparently Zdrilic - on contract Brockie - I really fkn hope not, I doubt it Brosque - on contract, i doubt it anyway AdelaideCarl Veart Nathan Burns Shengqing Qu Dez Giraldi Bruce Djite I seriously doubt it's Veart, we've already had Giraldi and he would be too old for an u/20 spot. Qu is off contract and I believe they are gonna let him go. Burns was on a 2 year contract, so still has 1 to go. I guess it's possible, but unlikely IMO. Djite was on loan from the AIS, and I read somewhere he was then put on contract, but this is uncomfirmed. imho, those 2 strikers are either; Robinson Rodriguez Bridge Qu Burns Djite I'm thinking the other one, is either; Mori Reinaldo Milicic Lynch Glavas Marcina My wish list is for Mori/Lynch or Burns/Bridge.

Burns is signed up at AUFC and Djite is all but signed on perm. Marcina has contacts in Europe ready to pounce.

TBH I think Qu would be a great signing, has been injured and seems to be on the outer at Adelaide.
Mori/Lynch/Owens would all strengthen the squad.
My only concern with Mori would be the weight of expectation placed on him to single handledly win us V3

I could see Mori flopping if he came back here. If he did come back, it would surely be for only one year. He is a good finisher, but not the be all and end all of strikers. And I don't like his apparent selfish attitude on and off the pitch, particularly having a go at teammates.
Let's get someone younger who is more interested in the Mariners than themselves and build something here.

agree with tiger on that one. even though signing mori would be good but whats the pint of signing a player for only one season we need someone much younger than mori who can stay at the club long term if he is good enough.

Rumours abound that SFC are trying to get him on board for their ACL sojourn anyway.

Why sign someone for just one season? Winning games in that one season. Plus all the positives that come with him being in the club, teaching whatever young strikers we end up getting. Selfish? Undoubtedly! He's not the leading scorer in Aus history for giving balls away when there is a shot on. Which players did he abuse? Probably the same ones that have copped it on this forum all season. If we kept him for 3 more months this year we would be talking about this weeks semi for the Mariners, not all the crap that is currently occupying our time
