im pretty sure that in last weeks express, in the interview with lyall it said that it would be possible to fit viddy under the salary cap, but that he would remain our marquee singing. that could all change if someone paid for all night dwight to come and play for us If I win powerball, I would pay for him to come and play for us

Imagine seeing Dwight Yorke score a goal at Aussie Stadium wearing the yellow of CCM. How good would that be?

What position is dwight playing these days? He was playing midfield, has moved back to striker? If still midfield, i am not sure we need another midfielder. We could probably find someone better for the same money i think if he is still a mid.

I think he's gone back to playing upfront for Sunderland. However, he isn't scoring goals for them, just 2 goals in 16 starts.

I think you are all dreaming about seeing Dwight Yorke in Mariners colours!
It won't happen

Definately not happening. He has heard about the closure of Club Troppo and is refusing to sign until it is reopened.

I think Dwight, if he was any sort of half decent father, would prefer to stay in the UK. His son with Jordan is quite sick I believe.

I think Dwight seems to like it over here alot more, he seemed like he wanted to stay in sydney but sydney wanted the transfer fee. If his son is sick maybe he will stay over there but from the sounds of things he seems to like australia alot and i reakon we will see all night dwight back in the a-league next year. I dont think it will be in the Yellow but would be fantastic if he was, he was good for sydney when he was there (you have to admit) and see him at the mariners would be great (espically the fact he played for man u back in his prime.)

He's actually still playing in the midfield. My bad.

Surely if we were going to try and sign somebody for a vast amount of money we could get a player better than Dwight that just doesnt have the same reputation he has,

of course it would be singo behind this. i would love to see yorke play for the mariners but unfortunately it seems unlikely that he will play for the mariners

Please no Dwight, just going to be another paid holiday for All Night. That said, maybe it is a ploy by Iguana to get Dwight through the doors

Sydney forum reports that Singo's real target is Andy Cole.
I don't follow overseas football enough to know if this is just a gee up.

I wouldn't say no to Dwight or Cole. Mind you I wouldn't say no to a 95 year old bloke with 1 leg if he could score 15+ goals a season

dwight is lazy, he wouldnt fit into the CCM style of play - we need someone who will run, doesnt need to be super quick but does need to get into good positions

I think Cole would be a decent signing as a striker, Yorke would be good if we decided we needed another midfielder. He was always very good at holding the ball up in midfield for Bling, and 99% of the time succeeded in finding a team mate or bringing one of the fullbacks into play.
That said, I agree it's highly unlikely we'll see either in Mariners colours.
I'm more interested in andyj's question about Jedinak. I know it's probably too early to say anything definite (the season's not even finished yet!), but are there any noises coming from the club about trying to sign the guy up? Ple-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ase say yes!)
