Yep - he was released yesterday from his contract by mutual consent Fingers crossed we can secure his services, very useful up front or in midfield, not sure at left back thou

(all seriousness, great pickup for you guys if he can stay healthy) so what is the meaning behind the title - that he's becoming a 'mariner' or that he's all at sea without a port to call home? Interested, 's all..

Interested, 's all.. it means he has moved back to newcastle for compassionate reasons if he wants to continue his football career he has to sign with the jets, mariners or sydney fc he won't go to the jets and the mariners are chasing him massive odds he will be signed here

The Mariners stability at the expense of big signings maybe held us back a touch last season but we'll now reap the rewards, we have room to move under the cap and we can pick up the cream of players wanting to play in NSW.
Well done to Lawrie and Lyall for building a club that is attractive to Sasho, Greg etc. He would be a great signing I agree. Too many players in his position at Adelaide whereas we only really have Tommy P.

The termination of his contract was announced at a press conference today on Fox Sport News. It was claimed that he has 'lost his hunger to play football'. I hope this is not true. This was the press conference announcing Kossie's resignation.

According to that same conference, Greg's girlfriend is about to have a child, so no doubt he's focused on playing daddy for a while. Hopefully, he misses the game enough to enlist in our team for Version 3

Maybe it was lost his passion to play football in Adelaide?

I am hoping that was a ruse. Maybe Adelaide were trying not to let the cat out of the bag.

He's surely asking for more money, you'd think. I just wonder if their salary cap is the same as everyone else's. I was trying to figure out how they were going to fit in players like Fred, Muscat, Brebner and Archie next season. Then they signed Milicevic. And now tards the land over are talking about players like Skoko and Elrich being added. If they sign another remotely high profile player I'm calling the FFA audit hounds. ;D

they will struggle without fred, unless they find a suitable replacement

Brebner will be on over $100k, Milicevic the same, Muscat close behind and Fred will be asking for his fair share given his contribution this year. Elrich was a load of crap and nothing but a rumour from what I heard? Skoko won't come back yet IMO. Head scratching I agree but credit to them where it's due.

With their success this season theyd have to off load some personnel.I would think more than Ferrante will go but who? Sarkies has been linked with a few clubs and seeing as his game time was linited hed probably go.I dont think Lubo would be on as much as we think. Fred will cost them loads to stay hes been invaluable for them.
