like so many others in Aus. football our Gregory is not on the best of terms with Con, so the jets are out of the question .. he'll sign for you .. with luck. we're starting to get a pretty good looking list for next year. especially as i've heard a little rumour that fred is maybe not going to be around for melbourne next year... Dibo, what's going on mate? Are you suggesting maybe there's a chance Fred's heading our way? Trying not to even think about that possibility. Way too exciting!!!!!!!

You gotta think that Allsop will be expecting more money i think they gotta be at least close to the edge of their cap.

I doubt Fred would ever play for any other a-league club, you would almost expect half their team to be wanting pay rises after the season they just had?
Going back to the original post thou, I'm feeling confident that we will be signing Owens very soon.
We are certainly shaping up strong in the middle of the park and up front, 1 more quality player to replace SP if he hangs his boots up would be awesome. Then Fingers crossed the Heff or another quality left back and we are without doubt finals if not top 2 contenders!

i wouldnt think fred is a chance of playing at another aleague club the 6-0 win would have caught the attention of many clubs around the world, and his performance in that match would have not gone unnoticed

I've heard he's being chased by MLS clubs who are prepared to throw cash at him.

Sydney won the comp by cheating the salery cap I wouldnt be at all surprised if melbourne loses a couple of points when the audits come out Small price to pay really for the premiership

The troubles for them is to keep everyone there because they'll be asking for wage increases.

This year i dont think melbourne have cheated the Salary Cap. If you look at it they probally would have had a bit of room to move under, their whole back line was full of people nobody really knew too much about at the start of last season, Archie is their Marquee, The brazillians would have been cheap and the only other players that would have cost a little bit would have been Muscat, Allsop and Brebner. At the start of the seaosn looking at Melbourne squad nobody was expecting them to do too much, maybe make the top 4, its just that their squad peformed well together as a team which made it seem like they would have cost alot

Cost Sydney a 2nd chance this year, and hence possibly the ACL. Meaning it would be quite a reasonable price to pay.
I would think if Sydney breached it again there would be greater number of points deducted.

Has anyone heard anymore bout him signing. He would be a great player for us if Tommy P, Gumps, Mrdja and Petrovski are all fit.

With the size of the crowds Melbourne was getting this season and the interest they would have got from guys with dollars, I doubt they would be struggling for cash to keep players in the squad.

Didnt seem to worry the Bling............oops.
Mind you, they cheated their way to a GF win and the ACL so maybe it is an ok stratey. Shame that their 1st win will forever be stained by their cheating.

How do you know that he would love that?
I don't know what is happening with McMaster though. Is he still under contract with us?

McMaster did previously state a few weeks ago, that he would love to continuinng to play for us, and I think that negotiations over a new contract are in talks.
